Jaden has arrived in Azalea Town with an evolved Quilava and is eager the challenge the Gym.
Jaden first went to the Pokemon Centre to rest up. Once he did, he headed to the gym.
He knocked on the door, but there was no answer. Then he tried the door and it opened.
Jaden: Uh, hello? Is anyone there?
Again, no answer.
He and Arcanine decided to wander around the Gym. As they did, he noticed that it was similar to a forest with bug types in the trees.
Jaden: Wow. It's like a forest. Makes sense for being a bug-type Gym.
???: Hello? Is someone there?
Jaden: Who's there?
???: Up here!
Jaden looked up and saw someone in a tree and a ladder below.
???: Could you get that for me?
Jaden: Uh, sure.
Jaden picked up and steadied the ladder so the person could get down.
???: Thanks.
Jaden: No problem. Who are you?
Bugsy: I'm Bugsy, the Gym Leader.
Jaden: You? You're a bit small, aren't you?
Bugsy: I get that a lot. But don't judge me based on my height. Just like bug types, I'm strong and that's the purpose of this gym: to prove bug types are strong. Are you here for a gym battle?
Jaden: Yep. I'm Jaden. I'm here to get my second badge.
Bugsy: Really? But I promise you, it won't be easy.
Jaden: I was hoping it wouldn't be.
Referee: The battle between Bugsy, the Gym Leader and Jaden the challenger will now begin. This will be a three-on-three battle. The battle will be over when one side's Pokemon are unable to continue. Furthermore, the challenger is allowed to make substitutions. Trainers, bring out your first Pokemon.
Bugsy: Go Beedrill!
Jaden: A Beedrill huh? I need a strong start. Go Quilava!
Bugsy: A fire-type. No surprise there.
Referee: Begin the match!
Bugsy: Beedrill, use Poison Sting!
Jaden: Quilava, counter with Swift!
Swift countered the Poison Sting and landed a hit on Beedrill.
Bugsy: Beedrill, use Twineedle!
Beedrill jabbed Quilava not once, but twice.
Jaden: Quilava, hang on and use Ember!
Bugsy: Beedrill, Poison Sting!
Both attacks collided and resulted in an explosion.
Bugsy: Beedrill, use Poison Jab!
Beedrill emerged from the smoke and jabbed Quilava.
Jaden: Quilava, hang on!
Bugsy: Beedrill, use Struggle Bug!
Jaden: Quilava, dodge and use Flame Wheel!
Quilava turned into a wheel of fire and attacked an incoming Beedrill. Beedrill took a super-effective hit and was defeated.
Bugsy: Beedrill no!
Referee: Beedrill is unable to battle. Quilava is the winner.
Jaden: Nice job, Quilava.
Bugsy: Beedrill, return. You fought your hardest. Get a good rest. Alright, go Parasect!
Jaden: Return Quilava. I'll need you later. Go Hoothoot!
Bugsy: A flying-type next.
Referee: Battle begin.
Bugsy: Parasect, use Slash!
Jaden: Hoothoot, use Peck!
Peck and Slash clashes together and pushed each Pokemon back.
Jaden: Use Reflect!
Physical attacks had their damage halved.
Bugsy: Parasect, use Venoshock!
Parasect fired poison liquid at Hoothoot.
Jaden: Hoothoot, dodge!
Hoothoot flew around and dodged the poisonous liquid.
Jaden: Use Air Slash!
Air Slash landed a super-effective hit on Parasect.
