When I wake up, I'm no longer in the Shiba House.

I'm back in the house I used to stay in with Logan, before Kevin figured me out.

There are loads of wires connected to me.

If possible, I'm wearing the clothes that show too much skin. High waisted shorts. A crop top. No bra. Only underwear.

I'm the most insecure person you'll ever meet.

Which is why I hate being on the examination table.

My eyes flutter open.

"She'll be fine." Hank says next to me.

He's HERE?!

"Her powers... She's dangerous whenever she has the dark phoenix coming in mind." Logan muttered.

They notice I'm awake.

Hank took most of the wires off of my body. I sat up slowly.

"Ashes, what happened?" For once, Logan's actually showing emotion on his face. I wish I had a camera to take a picture.

"The Dark Phoenix... Jean's not dead, she's coming back. A-And...they said I was next." I stuttered out.

"That won't happen unless I kill Jean and rid of the dark phoenix forever." Logan growled.

"What time is it?" I asked.

"Around 5 A.M." Hank said.

"What are you doing? Here, I mean." I asked, yawning.

"I decided a visit couldn't hurt. Perfect timing too." Hank shrugged. "You didn't hurt anyone at Shiba House, and once your powers got out of control, Logan was there, ready to help."

I nodded. "How did they-"

"They reacted like anyone would, jumping back, afraid. The only ones who didn't were Red and Ji." Hank shook his head.

"Jayden didn't..."

"I see you've grown quite fond of your teammate." Hank teased, removing more wires from my body.

"No... I can't fall for him, I'm not falling for him!" I protested.

"Ash, he was pretty worried about you too, until I assured them you were going to be alright. I imagine he's grown fond of you as well." Hank said.

"So am I going back to the Shiba House... Or what?" I asked.

"You are, and we shall have breakfast with them." Hank smiled and gently put a furry hand on my shoulder.

"They're not freaked out about the fact that you're furry and blue?" I wondered aloud.

"Not at all. They were rather curious about the blue pigment." He laughed. "Perhaps you would like to wash up. You have three hours, we're going at around 8 o'clock."

I got off of the examination table.

"Any word from the others?"

"Scott says he misses you dearly and wishes you're doing well." Hank sighed. "Ororo's been monitoring you constantly and says that you're doing a good job on the mission. Kitty and Bobby started a relationship and Rogue is barely hanging in there, but they all wish you the best. The Prof says that now you can talk to the rangers as an animal."

I nodded. "Thanks Hank." I walked out of the room and changed in my bedroom. After I was done, I played on my phone and was super bored until 8 o'clock came around.

I hoped breakfast would go well.

Just knock, Ash.

Here goes nothing.

Knock. Knock.

Ji opened the door and greeted us with a warm smile. For once, Logan had cleaned up quite nicely with a plaid shirt and some jeans. Hank was still blue, but he still was wearing a sweater vest with a tie. I wore jeans, knee high boots, a long sleeve shirt and a jacket which sleeves covered up my hands. I didn't want to hurt anyone. Not today.

We walked in.

I knew the rangers were uneasy about me as ever, as well as they were with Logan and Hank.

"Um, hi." I said quietly once we got to the sitting room. Shy Ashlynn mode: On.

The team gave me friendly smiles.

"You okay?" Jayden asked me, patting the seat next to him.

"A lot better than I was yesterday, but not exactly okay at the same time." I shook my head.

"I know the feeling. It wasn't your fault." He slipped my hand into his without much thought.

"You still believe of otherworldly things watching you?" I asked.

"Yeah, it's driving me crazy." He put his other hand on his forehead.

"You're not the only one that's going mad." I stared down at the floor.

"The most amazing people are always crazy, it's human nature." He shrugged.

"I'm not human." I whispered.

"Well, human and mutant nature. How about that?" He looked at me straight in the eye, and I stared back into his.

"Yeah." I said, resting my head on his shoulder. "Just Human and mutant nature."
