It had been our day off. Mike and Emily were skateboarding and rollerblading around downtown. Mia and Kevin trained together, and I was at the Shiba House with Jayden and Ji.

"Hello?" Jayden asked, flipping his samuraizer open. "I'll be there in a minute." He shut his phone, then ran inside. I morphed into a crow and waited for Jayden.

"You know where it is." Jayden told me, and I flew ahead.

Something about flying makes me feel so free. Riding on the wind.

I saw it. I dive bombed to the ground and made a soft landing, morphing while doing so.

"Yikes." I said. "This is not good."

"Yeah, you could say that again." Mike chuckled.

"How bad is it?" Jayden asked as he walked up.

"You're going to have to see for yourself." Kevin said.

My eyes flickered up to Jayden. I grabbed a stick and put it into the red water. The tip that was dipped in burned up.

"Woah." I said to myself.

"Over here!" Mia yelled, and we ran over. There was another puddle of red water.

"The last time this happened, Ji said it was a sign that the nighlock were getting stronger." Kevin claimed.

"It gets worse. Footprints!" Mia exclaimed, and we raced after the foot prints.

The trail was lost long ago, but the forest was Mike's terrain. He was still going, even if the footprints had disappeared.

"They stop here." He said.

Screams were heard in the upcoming neighborhood.

"We got a nighlock to catch." I growled, and we raced toward the direction. They morphed.

"Oh, Fire girl!" A voice taunted. I know that voice. Toad. Crap.

I looked up to one of the rooftops and there he was.

I flew up to the rooftop. "What do you want?"

"The nighlock and the brotherhood are getting stronger." He taunted. I lunged at him. Now we were fighting hand to hand combat. Not my favorite way to suck up my energy.

The rangers had stopped fighting, and apparently, the nighlock had ditched them.

"Ashlynn!" Jayden called. "We'll be up there soon!"

"Oh no you won't!" I yelled back. "My job is to protect you from the brotherhood. So this is my fight. As in, you will not stand with me!"

A loud screaming could be heard in the distance. Vines wrapped around Toad, and when they let go, he scampered away.

A girl on a floating lily pad zoomed closer and closer.

She smirked. "Miss me?"

Her catchphrase.

Standing right in front of me was Evelyn Garcia.

"Oh my gods of Norse Mythology!" I shouted. "Eve, what are you doing here?"

"Well, to be frank, the prof thought you needed help. I also wanted to visit my dear old brother." Evelyn explained.

We returned to the ground.

"Hi, everyone. I'm Evelyn Garcia."

"Antonio's little sister?" Emily asked, confused.

"The one and only." Evelyn mock-curtsied.
