Early A/N:

Read the end author's note. The reason I updated this on monday is because I missed this past Saturday's update and here is the late late version of the update :P

Okay, now you can go on and read.

***

It's always the most typical, cliche plot in every superhero movie.

The villain figures out that in order to trap the superhero, they have to take the people they care about most and threaten to kill them unless the superhero comes and tries to save them.

And it wasn't long until the nighlock tried to use it on us.

It was a typical afternoon at the Shiba house. Antonio and Ji working, Jayden training, Kevin reading, Mike playing his usual pranks, Mia, Emily and Evelyn spying on Antonio and Ji, and me watching my wonderful boyfriend train like the stalker I am.

Ji and Antonio walked out. Antonio had his fishing stuff.

"We're not going fishing. We're going outside to work on this," Ji held up the lightzord, "with some privacy."

I jumped up. "And I'm coming with you."

"Ash..." Jayden stopped training.

"Constant vigilance." I glared at Jayden, something I don't do to the pretty boy quite often.

"Right." Ji said. "You may come. You won't distract."

"Okay." I said, and was about to follow them before Jayden spun me around.

"You'll be safe, right?"

"Oh Jay..." I said quietly. "I have telepathy. I'll be okay."

We shared a quick kiss before I ran off, following Antonio and Ji.

The park was really quiet, and they sat on a picnic bench as Antonio worked. Ji disappeared after some grunts, and I looked to where he had disappeared.

Great.

Another kidnap spree.

I knew this plan all too well.

Antonio must have noticed too because he whirled around.

Moogers were in front of me, and they breathed out a red mist into my face.

And just like that, I was out like a light.

When I wake up, I'm tied to a pole. Antonio's on one side of me. Ji is on the other.

Ropes are tied around my legs, my wrists, my waist and my neck.

"Ah yes. Now all there is to do is play the waiting game!" The nighlock snarled. I rolled my eyes.

"What do you want from us nighlock?" Antonio shouted.

"Shut it Tony." I growled.

"Feisty, aren't you." The nighlock reached down to my face and petted it. "I already got what I wanted: the three of you!"

Great, now I'm on my way to become the next Gwen Stacy. Might as well start calling Jayden my Spiderman.

"Why us?" Antonio growled.

"You're the catch of the day. You're the bait I'm going to use to lure the rest of your color coded friends!"

"Stealing Green Goblin's plans, aren't you, nighlock?" I retorted, spitting at him as he tried to reach down to my face again. He retreated his hand.

"Now, now, dearie. And we all know what happened to Miss Stacy." My eyes widened.

"You sick, sick monster."

"Wouldn't you like to give them a call?" The nighlock taunted, showing Tony his stolen samuraizer. He struggled against the rope bonds, but the samuraizer was pulled out of his grasp.

"The only entrance to this valley is over there! And when they do come, and they will, my moogers will be waiting with open arms." The nighlock snarled.

"Don't worry, we just have to keep faith that the team will find us." Ji whispered to us.

"They will. Remember my fishing spool? I 'accidentally' dropped it."

"And I have telepathy." I whispered. "If Jayden remembers to use it. It might be disabled though, there's no telling."

"This time you've surprised even me, you two." Ji whispered.

"Ash, what exactly happened to Gwen Stacy?" Antonio asked.

"Let's just say that she now resides six feet under." I replied with a stony face. "It's not a pleasant story. But the Green Goblin used the same plot, so I wonder if all of the villains are in contact with the nighlock."

"They're not, I'm aware that only Magneto and his followers are after you." Ji told me.

"That's comforting." I groaned.

"When you gonna tell Jayden?" Antonio asked.

"Like, never. Not until I'm forced to leave, I don't want to break his pretty boy heart yet." I replied. That was all that was spoken until Jayden finally sent me a brain telepathy message.

Ash? Ash, are you okay?

My telepathy was pretty weak, but I could still, faintly, make out Jayden's words.

Follow the fishing spool.

We got that. Can you tell us where you are?

My connection was losing.

I don't have enough strength to calculate where I am. Constant vigilance. Remember that and hopefully I won't be another Gwen Stacy story.

What?

Constant vigilance... Remember. I whispered in my mind before the connection was lost.

I slumped my shoulders down. Oh Jayden... Please come soon.

A/N:

CLIFFHANGER!

I'm sorry this chapter is so fucking short, and I wish it could be longer, but instead, I decided for Ash not to be part of the rescue because 1. I'm a fucking lazy writer and 2. It makes Jayden realize and Ash realize that they're ready to take the risk which means that they realize that they will love each other unconditionally even if they don't have tomorrow which 3. is the most cliche thing in the world, and comes back to 4. the fact that I am a crappy, fucking lazy writer.

I'm sorry.

-Sophie.
