A/N:
Hey guys this is just an extra chapter to add a little fluff to Jayden and Ashlynn, this is an important chapter however it is consequently short, as it is an unspoken chapter. This is in-between the last episode: Room for one more and the next episode, The Blue And The Gold.
Thanks for cooperating
Sophie

"Hey, Ashlynn." Jayden called from behind me, and I turned around.

"Um, hey." I stuck my hands in my pockets. "What's up?"

"I said we would continue the conversation a few days ago when Mike had his fight with Mentor, and I realized that I still needed to talk to you about it." Jayden shrugged. "I mean, if you want to."

"Oh. Yes." I nodded and followed him to an empty training room.

We sat on the floor, opposite of each other.

"How did you know about Mike..." Jayden trailed.

"It happened a lot to me. I thought I could trust people, and instead, I got hurt in return." I looked down at my fingers, which were twisting a lot.

"Why?" He asked.

I almost forgot that he hadn't experienced the outside world yet, most of it anyway. I looked up and stared into his eyes, then glanced back down to my fingers.

"Humanity can choose to be cruel. We all have monsters inside of us... We just choose not to show them." I stood up. "I should go..."

"Stay, please?" Jayden asked. "You are not avoiding this conversation."

I sat back down. "Let's just start over again. What about you?"

"Antonio was only my ever real friend. Never really had experience with girls." Jayden chuckled.

"I can see that." I leaned back, resting my hands on the mat. "Being secluded all the time."

"Yeah, no friends." Jayden shrugged. "I mean, it's not like I'm different. Am I?"

"You're... Not normal, but not different to everyone else." I looked into his eyes, and his bore back into my mine. "You need to loosen up, like nearly every guy I know."

"Just another burden. Risking the team is just as hard..." Jayden shifted his gaze to his feet.

"You don't know what it's like, Jay." I shook my head. "No idea."

"I think I do, all of my friends are at risk." Jayden shook his head.

"Jayden, I'm being hunted by the police and the brotherhood of evil mutants for being... well, being me. And you think it's hard? What's hard is not knowing who you are. What's hard is having to not trust anyone for anything, and I don't even know why I'm talking to you, about this!" The words burst out.

"You're talking to me because you trust me..." Jayden said, his face in awe.

"I can't..." I pulled up my knees to my chest. "I just can't..."

The closet door burst open with Emily clumsily falling out.

"Sorry, I was looking for Mia but got trapped in here." She lied.

I stood up, and shook my head.

"I'll talk to you later, Jayden." The personal part of me faded away to the person they knew me as. I transformed into a bird, flying off, leaving the two watching me.

I was in the park again.

It was cold for October.

I wish I'd brought my jacket.

My knees were brought up to my chest, and my arms were around my knees.

"Hey." Jayden said softly as he walked down towards me.

"Sorry about Emily. No doubt she was eavesdropping." He sat next to me, and for a while we were both quiet. The wind howled and swirled around us.

I didn't say anything.

"You okay?" He asked. I shivered a little bit.

"Here, it's not much but until we get home, this should pull you over." Jayden said, then removed his brown jacket from his body and placed it so it was just resting over my shoulders.

"What about you?" I asked, finally speaking after what seemed was an eternity. I had been out in the park for at least a few hours, staring out into the ocean.

"I'll be fine. You can give it to me later." He shrugged. He was wearing a red, plaid, long sleeve, button up shirt with a v-neck underneath. That boy could never stray from at least one red article of clothing.

I pulled the jacket closer to my body. It was warm. It smelled like him... a mix of sweat and a touch of cologne.

"Thanks."

We sat there for a while, unable to speak.

When we returned home, we didn't mention it.
