I think that it's safe to say that Logan and I disappeared before the firefighters showed up. I still had the money in my pocket. I saw Kevin walking around with his friends and two girls, and he yelled to get my attention, but I ignored it and picked up my pace.
Logan and I got home shortly, and we attempted to make dinner(I succeeded in making an edible one) and we sat down.
"I think", Logan said, "That we should order your clothes online."
"Good choice." I said.
"I also think that we should get in contact with the rest of the X-Men to talk about this shit." Logan took a swig of his beer.
"They're trying to contain the Dark Phoenix..." I said quietly.
"Yet it's not working. Expect a crying Scott Summers at our door at any time." I chuckled.
"He really does love her, does he?" I asked.
"Yes... I knew it from the moment their eyes met." Logan sighed. "If only they could have their happy ending."
"You mean Jean is going to die?"
"Yes... We're all expecting it. The Dark Phoenix will eventually take her, and grow restless." Logan said softly.
"I don't want her to die."
"Me neither Ash... But it's fate that chooses her path. We can't do anything." I got up and put my plate away.
"There must be something."
"There isn't... She's a lost cause."
I stayed silent after that. Is that what we would see? Jean Grey lying on her death bed?

"STELLA!" I heard Kevin's voice yell. I ignored it.
"HEY! Why are you-" He asked, and jogged up to me. I kept sketching.
It was a picture of Jean. I looked up. "Hello."
"Is that a friend of yours?"
"About to lie on her death bed..." I said quietly.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked. Did you hear about the mall?"
"What happened?" I asked, and feigned innocence.
"Part of it burned down!"
"That's awful! Can anyone find the arsonist?"
"You were the last one out... Did you see them?"
"No... I was running too fast to see them." I lied.
"Oh, well, you should have seen it. It was cool but saddening at the same time."
"I'll try to catch it later." I said, chuckling.
"You had to be there." He said. "You should have seen them...Man, I wish you were there."
"It's better if I wasn't. I'm afraid of Fire."
"Oh."
"Yeah. I kind of have to go now, but I'll talk to you later."
"See you. I still need to introduce you to my friends... Maybe this afternoon?"
"Okay. Here. In the park."
"Bye." He said, and waved as I walked off.
Maybe I was going to make friends here after all. Maybe it was time for me to show them who I really am... Soon.

As it turns out, Kevin ditched me. He had to do something, or whatever. So I walked around town, but then I saw them. The Rangers. In the flesh. In a different park. It was Kevin and his friends. I hid behind a barrel. It would be best if I wasn't seen by the monster.
"Stop messing with this kid or you'll have to go through us!" Kevin threatened.
"Ooh, tense, are we?" The Nighlok taunted.
"Go go samurai! Samurai morpher!" They all yelled, transformed, then charged. The kid behind them was clearly scared to death.
As they charged, I ushered the kid away from the battle. I was in my battle suit... I had morphed earlier.
"Well, well, look who we have here." I heard the Nighlok said.
"You don't know anything about family. Your family ditched you." The Nighlok taunted.
I charged full speed ahead and used my fire powers to attack him. "As far as I know, those people weren't my family. Why don't you try learning a thing or two about misery and see how you like it?" I asked when I stopped attacking.
"Come on kid, it's time to go home." I said quietly, and ushered the kid back home. The Rangers stared in awe.
************************************
The next day happened to be total destructive one. The nighlok ruined at least 10 buildings in the process of fighting the Rangers. It's not like the X men clean up after themselves either.
Kevin and his friends sat in the cafe I was in, across the aisle from me. I was sketching something.
"Hey Stella, why don't you come sit with us?"
"Are... Are you sure? Because I wouldn't want to intrude..."
"You're not."
"No." I said. "I'm going to take a raincheck on that. I have homework to do for school."
"Oh. Well, see you later." Kevin nodded and waved.
I ran home. The guy in red had been staring at me... Not in a bad way, but it wasn't like I was attractive or anything. My plain brown hair didn't stick out at all, and the only boldness of me was the fact that my clothes stood out.
But he had this sort of aura, like he wanted to find out more about me. He must have been the leader, the red ranger, and I could tell by that stern look on his face and the way he dressed.
And if possible, when I had barely spoken a word to him, I was falling. Hard.
