"We just have to border the city, all ways to get in. Make sure no one can get in. Storm and Rogue are scouting the area now." Scott said. I looked miserably down at my shoes.
"It isn't safe, our enemies have been hiding in the park." I replied. "We can't border the city - that won't do anything. We have to border where the rangers are fighting."
"Alright, then we do that, but -" My phone started ringing.
"Excuse me for a minute." I grabbed my phone and walked to the back room where no one could hear me.
"Hello?" I asked, putting my phone up to my ear.
"Ashlynn! Yes, you actually picked up."
"My phone has been off for the past day or so. What's wrong?" I asked.
"How could you all just leave?! You said you would stay until morning for a proper goodbye but you just left a stupid post-it note!" Kevin exclaimed.
"My ways of leaving do not have anything to do with the matter at hand, Kevin. Now may I ask why you called?" I snapped.
"I called because Jayden has a sister and he just told us this." Kevin said. I groaned in frustration.
"And what do I have to do with the matter?"
"There are two red rangers. One of them has to go, and that one has been playing with us-"
"And that one is Jayden." I sighed. "I was aware of the fact that he was a stand in - his behavior in the beginning was clearly due for critical analysis."
"Wait, you knew?"
"I had my assumptions, yes. But to spoil something that isn't mine to do so is rather mean, is it not?" I asked. "What do I have to do with this, again?"
"You need to convince Jayden to stay. By the way, he can hear you. You're on speaker."
"I will do nothing of the sort." I replied. "I don't control him like a puppet. He makes his own decisions knowing that it's best for himself. Furthermore, please respect his sister in the way you respect him, and I'm sure you'll get along fine."
"Ashlynn!"
"No, I'm not doing it."
"But you always do it!"
"Kevin, I used to wake up fearless, and ready to face the day. The thought of Jayden being in danger scares me every day now that he is in my life." I replied.
"Ashlynn?" Scott called. "We came up with a plan, come back here!"
"I should go." I spoke into the phone. "I'll talk to you later after this war is over." I hung up, then returned to the room.
"So, what's the plan?"

"The area is clear, many have evacuated. Now it's just us." Storm said calmly, walking onto the BlackBird. "We need more enforcements."
"Jimmy and Angel, maybe Banshee." I suggested. "They're powerful mutants."
"Jean has gone to the other side. The Phoenix has taken over her. Wolverine appears to be the only one to fully put her reign to an end." Rogue said, and Scott looked like he was about to cry through those glasses of his.
"The battle starts tomorrow, but first, it's time to train in the Danger Room."

This chapter is super short and it's kind of a filler chapter but you finally found out what Jayden's secret is. I'm planning on a double update today though.
