Fighting to Love (Power Rangers Samurai)

The Blue and the Gold Pt. 1

"Behold. The clawzord." Antonio introduced. It looked like a robotic crab, to be perfectly honest. It had emerald eyes, and was blue, gold and silver. The zord clicked loudly, as a form of communication.

"Where did you get this?" Jayden asked. Even he was in awe.

"It was damaged a few years ago in battle." Ji explained. "I hid it."

"And he asked me to, err.... repair it." Antonio stammered out.

"Huh?" Jayden asked.

"I wanted to see if he could actually do it." Ji muttered to Jayden, and Jayden nodded.

"It's very easy. I text some symbols to the clawzord, and he's as good as new." Antonio shrugged.

"So you've been using electronic symbols?" Mia asked.

Antonio pointed to Mia. "Welcome to the 21st century."

"Impressive, but these are the skills of an engineer, not a true samurai." Kevin said.

Antonio's smile faltered. "Look, I know I'm not born into this like you, but I'm trying to help in a way that I can."

"I suppose you have a thing about me being here as well?" I stood up and crossed my arms, giving him some attitude.

"Kevin, we already agreed that we would accept Antonio and the fact that he's on the team." Mia scolded.

"In fact, yes, I do Ashlynn. You don't do anything! Why are you here anyways?" Kevin shouted.

"I'm here to protect you from my enemies! Did you think I'd just sit on my arse during this mission? No! I'm trying to protect you from the people who want all of our heads, every single one of us! And the fact that you don't give a fuck about what I'm doing, or why Antonio is on the team, maybe you should just walk away, but the damage will always be right behind you. And you know I'm right! You're just too stubborn to believe it!" I screamed back at him.

"Okay, that's enough!" Jayden yelled and stepped in between us.

"I said I'd give you two a chance, but being a samurai is more than pressing buttons or having inhuman abilities!" Kevin yelled, and stormed out.

I reached to my back and pulled out one of the feathers from my wings. It was bloody and it hurt like hell, but once I finally got my wings out, as the rangers stared in awe, I flew off.

They needed me.

They just didn't want to admit it.

I was at the park again. My wings were folded into my back, and I didn't feel like walking off my anger.

Jayden apparently followed me.

"What do you want?" I asked grumpily, staring out at the floor.

"Did you mean it? That you were here to protect us?"

"I didn't want to tell you because I know you have issues with people protecting you." I muttered.

"Are there really people trying to-"

"Assassinate you? Yes there are and they won't stop. You saw when Mystique was posing as Ji that one time." I shook my head. "You don't know the least of it."

"I'm sorry about Kevin, he's just trying to hold on to old traditions he grew up knowing." Jayden apologized.

"Yeah, like that'll make me apologize. I wasn't supposed to be friends with any of you. Well I did, become friends I mean, and look where it got me, again. Hurt." I laughed dryly.

"Mike went through that, and now it's you and Antonio who Kevin's decided to be mad at. He's a little too serious about being a samurai." Jayden sighed.

"A little? He eat, sleeps, drinks, breathes like a samurai. I should have known he'd never accept me. No one ever does once they find the fact that I'm a mutant." I shrugged.

"I accept you, so does Antonio and-" Jayden started, but I cut him off.

"I know you do. But you're not the human race. You're of samurai blood, and that's not the same as the blood of a human's." I sighed.

"What, are you saying I'm not human?" He asked, then lifted my chin and guided it over to his face.

Our faces' were inches apart, maybe centimeters. My heart started beating a million times faster than usual.

"No." I pulled my face away from his. "I'm saying you're different than any other person I know."
