After breakfast, Hank and Logan left, and the rangers (sans Jayden and I) left to check out the odd gap sensor that worked but showed nothing.

Jayden and I stayed behind.

We sparred a little bit (I beat him) and then we talked to Ji. We went into Jayden's study and we were both quiet for a long time.

"Spring Valley." Jayden said randomly aloud. "I need to go there."

"Ji won't let you without your team, Jay." I shook my head.

Jayden grabbed a piece of paper and scribbled a quick note on it.

He was almost out the door before he stared at me. "You coming?"

I transformed into a crow.

You think I would miss this?

I could do it. I could talk to him telepathically in animal form.

"You can talk in animal form telepathically?" He asked. I gave a small nod, then led the way out of the Shiba House.

Time for battle.

******************************************************************************************************************

Smoke had surrounded Jayden, making him invisible, but I could still sense his presence.

"I can't believe they forced us to come to this vile world." The nighlock complained. He had hawk eyes that glowed bright yellow along with a head also looking alike to one of a hawk's. He wore a robe with white trimming, knee high rustic red boots, blue pants, and a blue and rustic red peacock feather like skirt.

Jayden jumped out of the water and started attacking the Nighlock.

And then he went down.

Behind him, Mia and Kevin burst out behind the rocks in battle wear.

"Kev. This must be the nighlock Jayden's been sensing all of this time." Mia said.

The three circled the nighlock. The monster backed up.

"One on three's not fair." He complained.

"Neither is spying on us." Jayden growled. "I saw through you. I realized water was the thing that could block your spell. I knew this was the once place I could truly hide from you."

"Aw nuts." The nighlock complained.

"Of course! The water here is more pure than the water of the evil sanzu river!" Mia exclaimed.

"And that must have broken the spell!" Kevin nodded.

"He fooled our gap sensor, but not us." Jayden caught the mirror the nighlock was holding after it was thrown up in the air.

"No! My mirror!" The nighlock wailed. "And I never even go to see you practice your sealing symbol."

Because Jayden wasn't the one to practice it.

He was too young. He never practiced it.

He was only a stand in for the real red ranger, who was in hiding, practicing the sealing symbol and trying to master it.

A near bullet proof plan.

But Jayden wasn't a fake. He still fought with dignity as if he were to be the one to seal the nighlock away from our world.

"So that's what you wanted!" Mia exclaimed.

"Who cares if you know," The nighlock snarled, "I'll destroy you anyway."
