SPENCER

I got out of the car in a hurry, trying to pave my way through the small crowd that had formed in front of the Baker's residence.

An officer would not let me cross the line until Jordan said we were family and I could finally get inside. The first person I looked for was Olivia, but while searching for her I saw two police officers standing over Christopher who held his head low.

A fit of rage took over me and I ran to him, ready to finish him but was stopped by Darnell and Jordan.

"Let me go! I'm gonna teach him not to hurt women!" I screamed.

"Spencer, it's not worth it! Calm down!" Darnell said.

"He hurt her, Darnell! I knew I should have busted his ass that night when I still had the chance!"

Christopher started laughing as he looked at me.

"She still won't want you back after today." He said.

"Mr Williams, please remain silent while we wait for the patrol. Young men, take your friend away from here." One of the officers said.

"That's it?! You're not going to do anything else?" I stated.

"Spencer, enough! Do you think it hurt or scared you more than me? That's my sister we're talking about! It's killing me right now to have to restrain myself knowing that I could have lost her tonight, but violence is not the answer! Not in this case!" Jordan exclaimed.

For the first time since I got there, I stopped for a second to look around me. Olivia was still nowhere to be found.

"Where is she?" I whispered.

"She's picking up some clothes with the girls upstairs. They're gonna move out of the house for a few days, until they change all the locks and install security cameras." Darnell replied.

"Can I go see her?" I asked Jordan.

He nodded his head and moved out of the way for me to pass. I ran upstairs to the room I knew all too well. I could not take it any longer, so I did not even bother knocking.

As soon as I walked in, she turned away from her conversation with Layla and saw me standing there.

"Liv..." Is all I said, almost in a whisper.

She immediately teared up and ran to my arms. I hugged her with everything that I had, not wanting to let go even for a second.

"It's okay, you're okay. It's over now."

I kept telling her she was okay because she was crying her heart out against me. Layla finished her bag for her and brought everything downstairs while she calmed down. When she was finally able to speak, I asked her how she felt.

"I'm okay... I was just scared. I thought... I thought it was over for me."

"Don't say that. No one will ever let that happen, do you hear me? He'll pay for this." I told her.

"What if he doesn't? What if he gets out later tonight just like Wade did? What if he comes back? Spencer, I barely managed to pick myself up the first time, I won't be able to do it again. I won't!" She cried out.

Hearing her bring up the Wade episode hurt me deeply because I was one of the many people who failed her back then. I did not protect her enough nor believe her gut feeling.

"It's time to go, Liv"

I turned to see Noah standing at her door with her bag in hand.

"Hey, Spencer... I'm dropping her and Patience at her parents' house." He said.
