SPENCER
"Coop, why would you invite someone on my behalf without even consulting me first? It makes no damn sense!" I called out.
"Spencer, if you had simply told me that Alicia and you were completely done, I would not have invited her over. You trying to keep secrets from me is the real problem here!"
I could not believe what I was hearing from Coop. I stopped to stare at her and thanked God that we were standing alone outside the house.
"What are you trying to say, Coop?" I asked.
"All I'm saying is that since hanging out with Liv again, you have started acting all secretive with me. If that girl has the power to make you keep important information from me, then I don't know if I like y'all being back together!" She expressed.
"We are not back together, Coop!" I shot back.
"Then what crazy stuff happened between you two that you can't tell me about?" She insisted.
"Coop, it's none of your business! Just drop it!"
I walked away from her because I was getting too heated. I loved Coop for looking out for me, but it was becoming a lot. I could not deal with her when she was being so unreasonable.
"Spence, I was looking for you everywhere! Don't leave me standing alone in here!" Jordan said as soon as I stepped back inside.
"What are you even doing standing by the door?" I questioned.
"I don't know... I don't know, man!"
"Everybody, meeting in the living room!" JJ shouted for everyone to hear.
Jordan and I shared a look before heading over. The only free seats left were next to Simone, so we naturally made our way over. Jordan waited for me to settle down before following up.
Once we were all gathered, JJ explained his game and chose the teams for it. I was not focused at all, sitting there with Alicia and Olivia in the same space. People quickly lost interest for the game and gradually left to go do something else.
Hours went by and I still had not been able to speak with Olivia once. She was walking her colleagues out when Alicia came over to me.
"Hey, Spencer. Got a minute?"
I smiled softly.
"Sorry for being all over the place tonight." I apologized.
"It's fine. You looked very surprised to see me." She stated.
"To be honest, I was... I didn't know Coop invited you." I admitted.
There was no point in lying to her. I had nothing to hide.
"I figured that much... Listen, Spencer I'm sorry. I just thought we were at least going to remain friends... Anyways, I'll just help myself out."
One side of me wanted to stop her from leaving like that, but all the other side thought about was finding Olivia to clear the air.
For the hundredth time.
"I'm sorry, Alicia." Is all I could say.
Again, for the hundredth time.
"You're a lot of that lately. Don't worry about me."
She smiled before leaning in for a hug that I naturally reciprocated. Simone walked over to me as Alicia left.
"Rough night?" She asked.
I finally let out the sigh I held in since I got to the house.
"They all are lately... How's it going for you?"
