OLIVIA
"I'm so excited about homecoming weekend!" Patience exclaimed.
She danced to the beat of her own joy, exposing how excited she actually was about the coming weekend.
"Patience, we just had a party a few days ago. Why are you so excited about another one so soon?" Layla asked.
Layla was definitely not the party type of girl. Our social batteries were quite similar in that sense, so it was easy for me to relate to her energy when it came to events.
"It's my first homecoming weekend since I transfered to G.A.U, so I want to meet a bunch of new people... You know, friends and more than friends!" She explained.
As Patience went on over about her fantasy tirade, Coop walked in at that exact moment, and for the first time I I could finally understand how awkward Spencer and I made everyone else feel these past few months.
"Hey." She said.
"Hey, Coop! Bye, Coop!" Patience said, leaving in a hurry.
"O-kay... What's that all about?" Coop asked us.
She took a seat at the kitchen isle, reaching for some of the food Layla and I had cooked for breakfast.
"Patience being Patience... What's up? I feel like I don't see you a lot these days." Layla said.
I knew she was trying to change the topic so I wanted to help her out.
"Yeah, what's up with the cool Coop?"
Both Layla and Coop looked at me as if I had lost it. Which might have been true. Coop laughed and shook her head at me before replying.
"I'm cool... I've just been trying to get back to... music lately." She revealed.
"Really?! That's awesome, Coop! What made you change your mind?" I asked her.
"Well, my test results keep getting better everytime, so the health part has been working in my favor... Now, it's the courage part that's missing."
"Are you sure you're ready for this?" Layla quizzed.
When it came to Coop's career there was no one more qualified to discuss it with her than Layla. After all, they were each other's first shots at trying out their respective passions.
"When it's going to be time, I'll know. Don't worry." Coop assured us.
My phone rang on the kitchen counter, signaling an incoming call. Layla, who was the closest to it, handed it over to me, not without eyeing me weirdly at the same time.
"Why is Darnell calling you so early in the morning?" She questioned with a knowing look.
"Or might I rectify, so late at night in Europe?" Coop inquired almost at the same time.
I rolled my eyes at them and grabbed my bag to leave, departing from the kitchen while they conversed about whatever they thought was going on between Darnell and I.
I finally picked up the call as soon as I was out of the house and away from curious ears.
"Hey!" I greeted him.
"Hey, Liv! Sorry, I hope it's not a bad time!" He said over the phone.
"No, it's good. I was just about to leave for School. Give me a second, I'll put you on speakerphone while I drive... Alright, what's up?" I asked him.
"How are you settling back?"
"So far, so good. Is it weird that I miss Germany so much though?" I asked, chuckling.
