"You good?"

Alicia asked as she handed me a drink. I smiled and scooted over a bit for her to sit next to me.

"Yeah, I'm good... Are you having fun?"

"Well, we've been here all of thirthy minutes and I've already sensed a lot of drama, so that's that. Care to tell me more?"

I let out a sigh. It was not the time nor the place for us to have that conversation, but she deserved a bit of a  heads up.

"You remember the ex I talked to you about?" I asked her.

"The one you slept with a few weeks ago?" She reminded me.

I grimaced at the thought.

"Yeah... That's her over there."

Alicia looked over at Liv and smirked back at me.

"I figured that much. She's gorgeous."

"So are you."

Alicia giggled before shaking her head at me in a playful way.

"I wasn't fishing for compliments... But I do appreciate them. What's bothering you?

"Nothing. Why?"

I was confused as to why she thought I was bothered.

"Your whole demeanor changed after that conversation with your friends. I'm just trying to make sure you're okay." She said.

"I'm good. It has nothing to do with her."

Saved by the bell, or should I say by my best friend, Coop came over and sat down with us.

"How are y'all lovebirds doing tonight?" She asked me.

"Where is Sky?" I asked back without answering her question.

"She's somewhere around here trying to have a conversation with Patience."

"What could she possibly want to say to P?" I asked, more than intrigued.

"She says she wants to be able to be cordial and whatnot! Man, whatever, I don't even want to know! Relationships are complicated!"

"Tell me about it!" Alicia exclaimed.

Coop looked over at me with an inquiring eye. I sensed that she would ask me about it as soon as we'd be alone, so I just shrugged it off for the time being.

As we sat there and chatted, my ears kept capturing Liv's laughter from inside the house. She always had a very distinguished one. I was trying so hard not to look in her direction that I didn't see Layla coming over to us until she sat down with our group.

My friendship with her had been a bit rocky since we broke up, but it was slowly getting back to normal with time.

"So, Alicia... are you from around here?" She asked.

"Well, sort of. I'm actually from the Valley, born and raised. I moved to Beverly Hills when I turned sixteen and haven't left since!"

"Oh, valley girl! That's nice!" Layla replied.
