OLIVIA
I made my way downstairs to meet up with the girls for our impromptu Girls' night out, organized by the forever party girl, Miss Patience. I didn't want to go out at first, but I thought it'd be better than just sitting at home and mopping around the house.
When I came down, only Patience was there, but she was far from being ready.
"Where is everyone and why aren't you dressed?" I asked her.
"Yeah, I'm not going anywhere."
"What? Is it cancelled or something?"
"Oh, you're going out, just not with me." Patience replied.
I looked at Patience as if she were crazy, because there was no way that she made me dress up, beat my face to the nines, made me put on my night out shoes, to decide not to go out in the end.
"You need to explain, and you need to do it now." I said, sternly.
"You're going out with me."
I could recognize that voice anywhere. I spun around to find Spencer standing only a few feet away from me, grinning sweetly at me. I couldn't help myself and immediately responded with the same energy.
"What are you doing here?" I asked him.
In a very different tone than the one I had just used with Patience. What can I say? I am biased.
"Taking you on a long overdue date. What do you say?"
He made his way over to me and held his hands out at me, waiting for me to take them. I stood there looking between Patience and him for a minute, trying to process it all.
"Girl, just go! I'm so tired of y'all!" Patience exclaimed.
Both Spencer and I laughed at her reaction. I finally reciprocated the gesture and let him guide me out of the house, towards his car. We stayed silent as he drove us to our location. When we finally arrived, I looked around, recognizing the place.
It was a restaurant that had recently opened and was supposedly always crowded, but for some reason there were no customers except for us.
"Are you sure they're open?" I questioned.
"Trust me."
Without second guessing his words, I followed him inside. The staff led us to our table and when I saw it, I immediately understood what was going on.
We sat down as I looked around at the empty restaurant, wondering how he had managed to pull that one off when he leaned closer to me, making me raise my gaze at him.
"You look beautiful... with your night out shoes." He teased.
"Stop it!" I said as I tried and failed to hold in a snicker.
Spencer's small smile morphed into a huge grin as he obviously loved my reaction. I could look at him for hours and hours.
"Should we order?" He asked me.
I nodded my head right before he called in for a waiter to write down our orders. We made small talk while waiting, with Spencer telling me all about the combine and the time spent with the players.
By the time our food arrived, we had talked about so much, but still nothing of the real topic.
"By the way, your dad is staying at South Crenshaw High. He announced it today."
"Yeah, Jordan called to tell me... Do you think you can forgive him now?" I tried.
"Wow... Sometimes I forget that J and you are twins, until moments like these happen." He laughed.
