Four people stood in the arena where Hiccup frequently trained.

These four people included Stoick 'the vast' Haddock, the chief of Berk, Gobber the belch, the blacksmith of Berk and Stoick's right hand man, and Ingrid and Harold Hofferson.

Many of the Vikings also surrounded the arena, watching what's happening in there from the outside. Some of them were nervous about being in the territory of the Night rider. Others were anxious about what might happen.

Soon Hiccup arrived at the place with Toothless. The dragon-human duo made a dramatic entrance by dropping down from the sky and landed on the floor of the arena with Hiccup hopping off Toothless's back moments before landing and dropped beside Toothless, landing on one knee and supporting the rest of his body weight with his other foot and right arm.

Hiccup got up on his feet and approached the four people standing inside the arena.

It had been two days since he made an alliance with Berk. And now he was gonna teach them how to tame Dragons.

When he proposed this idea, many of the Vikings were hesitant. But Gobber, Stoick and Surprisingly the Hoffersons had volunteered to be the first to learn this skill.

And thus, they ended up here. Hiccup glanced at the people watching them and took a deep breath. It isn't exactly the first time he will be doing it, but he couldn't help but feel a tingle of nervousness in the back of his mind.

"People of Berk, today is going to be a special day for you all. For today, you will learn the true nature of Dragons. Today you all will see they're not what we think they are. We don't have to kill them."

As if on cue, a number of Dragons came down from the sky and landed in the arena. The Vikings panicked a bit at first when the Dragons came down, but calmed down once they saw the Dragons didn't do anything to them.

The herd of Dragons just stood there, in the middle of the arena.

The volunteers glanced at the Dragons and then at Hiccup and then back at the Dragons. It didn't take long for them to realise what was going to happen.

"Would you like to do the honours, Chief?" Hiccup asked as he stepped in front of Stoick.

Stoick stared at him for a while before nodding. Hiccup grabbed his arm and led him towards the Dragons.

Stoick walked forward. Despite the nervousness and the fear of what might happen, he didn't stop as his son led him closer to the creatures he once seeked to destroy.

Now standing in front of the Dragons, Stoick suddenly didn't know how to feel about them.

For years he had blamed these creatures for the loss of his wife, for all the deaths and disasters that had happened. But now he felt none of that. In all honesty, he felt nothing.

He gazed at the variety of Dragons standing in front of him, but as his gaze moved from one Dragon to another, something caught his eye.

Stoick suddenly found himself looking into the amber eyes of a blue Thunderdrum. Stoick felt as if its gaze was boring right through his soul.

The Dragons parted away as the Thunderdrum stepped forward. Hiccup suddenly grabbed his hand again and led him closer to it, and Stoick, albeit hesitantly, followed along.

He was now right in front of the Thunderdrum. Hiccup lifted up his arm and brought it closer to the Dragon. Stoick tried to pull away his hand in panic as the Thunderdrum let out a low growl, but Hiccup did not allow it.

Instead, he rested Stoick's palm against the Dragon's snout. His hand hovered over Stoick's, indicating him not to pull away.

Stoick obeyed Hiccup and gently pressed his palm against the Thunderdrum's snout.

The Dragon closed its eyes and so did Stoick as he felt something. Of course he felt the cold scales of the Dragon and its hot breath against his arm, but what he was feeling right now wasn't that.

Stoick could feel something forming between them and when he opened his eyes, he once again found himself staring into the amber eyes of the Dragon.

But this time there was something in them. Stoick could feel a sense of trust from the Dragon. A trust he wasn't willing to break, no matter what.

"Do you feel it?" Hiccup asked.

"Yes." Stoick said as he lowered his hand.

The Dragon and the human both took a step back, but held each other's gaze.

The people watching them were in awe. The Vikings couldn't believe their eyes, while the gang just smiled as they saw it.

"So," Hiccup turned towards the rest, with a smirk on his face "Who wants to go next?"

The upcoming days moved in a blurr. Many other Vikings had also volunteered after Hiccup successfully taught the first four.

Hiccup had finally talked with the gang, mending up their friendship to some extent and even had them help him out to train the Vikings.

Though, despite all that, Hiccup was still a bit edgy around Astrid. They were civil, but still quite distant. After all that has happened, Hiccup still couldn't bring himself to mend what was between them completely.

When they returned back to Berk on Dragons, it was an event to see. The people of Berk had gone through a fury ride of emotions when their fellow villagers and their Chief returned on the back of Dragons.

And when they found out that the infamous Night rider was none other than their former hier and that he has established an alliance with the tribe, they were stunned. At first they were happy to receive his help. But as time went on, they couldn't help but feel guilty about how they had treated Hiccup during his time on Berk.

On his return, Hiccup, with the help of his friends and Stoick, began his work on improving Berk.

The gang would help him with training other's to ride Dragons, while Stoick, with his authority, helped Hiccup initiate anything necessary for the improvement of Berk and to integrate the new lifestyle.

And as things came along, Hiccup couldn't be prouder of himself.

The Dragon rider stood on a high point as he looked down at his hard work as the last rays of the setting sun grazed over the landscape of Berk, making the buildings glitten in reddish yellow hue.

He had achieved something that he once deemed impossible.

It would still take some more time for things to workout properly, but for now, all was fine.

Hiccup closed his eyes and took a deep breath and his lips curled into a small smile as a breeze of air hit him, ruffling his hair.

"I wish you were here. I guess you would be proud to see me now." Hiccup whispered.

For the first time in a long while, Hiccup felt at peace.
