Chapter 39 - Kept Hidden

One week later...

Ink's View:
I put Jammy to sleep and went to Blue's room, he hadn't spoken to anyone.

Not even Nightmare.

I knocked on his door b it there was no reply.

* Blue...please unlock the door, okay?

Nothing. I sighed before walking off. Nightmare was in the kitchen, eating a tub of ice cream. He was miserable. Everyone had tried everything to help them but they'd closed off to everybody.

I couldn't let them be like this any longer. I used magic, teleporting them both to the living room. Blue was wrapped around a blanket in pyjamas.

* You two need to get your act together. You need to keep on going for her, not give up.

No responses.

* Blue, Nightmare did what he did to protect you...you know that right?

Blue lowered his head, tears cornering his eyes.

* And Nightmare, you've lost your kid...but you had to choose between your daughter and your wife.

Nightmare turned his head in shame and guilt.

* This is the best time to comfort one another, you can't just-

* He killed my child. I WOULD'VE DIED FOR HER ANY DAY!

* And leave Luna without a mother, blaming herself for the rest of her life?!

Blue went silent, realising the point I was making. I looked over at Nightmare and he wiped his tears before walking off. Blue teleported back to his room.

Another week later...
Blue's View:
I had stayed in my room 99% of the time. It hurt to know Luna was gone.

But in all honesty, I was mostly scared.

If Nightmare was able to kill Luna...then there was a possibility of..

I laid my hand on my tummy and took a deep breath.

I hadn't told anyone I was pregnant. And I wasn't planning to either.

I got ready for the day and went to the kitchen. Dream gave me a huge hug when he saw me.

* How are you feeling today Blue?

* Better than before..

I dished out my breakfast and was about to look over at Luna to see if she had taken vegetables...

But she wasn't there.

I sat down opposite Luna's usual seat.

* Hey Blue, we want to show you and Nightmare something after breakfast, is that alright?

I smiled, nodding. Nightmare didn't come down to have breakfast. I blamed myself for that. What I had said last week was so mean of me...so after breakfast I knocked on his temporary bedroom door.

* N...Nightmare? I'm coming in...

I opened the door to see Nightmare in the corner of the room, his head was in between his knees. I sat besides him. We remained silent for a while.

* Do you hate me?

Nightmare asked, looking at me.

* I love you and will always love you.

We stood up, a portal opening in front of us.

* The others wanted to show us something.

I held his hand and we went through. There were flowers covering a grave with her name. Nightmare and I looked at it...the others behind us. He suddenly hugged me tightly before I could cry. As much as he loved me...I wasn't ready to tell him.

"She'll never be forgotten and you can come here any time to be with her." Amelia said.

We had to continue with our lives, even with Luna in our mind.

Six months later...

Nightmare's View:
Blue and I got in the car and we drove to the Grand Mall. It was almost Christmas, finally! We were in charge of gifts, Cross's family was in charge of the food and Error's was in charge of decorations.

I parked the car and we went inside. Blue had a super long list. Initially, I thought he'd stay home as he seemed...more tired than usually, but he insisted he came.

* I can split the list in half and meet back up here in half an hour or so?

I nodded, taking half of the long long list. Fortunately, I had the easier half so it was pretty easy to find everything. We met back at the checkout and paid for everything.

We were walking out of the store when Blue stopped in his tracks. I looked behind me, his eyes were wide.

* Blue? Blue are you alright?

He looked at me..his eyes fluttering very slightly. He said he felt lightheaded so I took the bags from him before he passed out.

2PM

I waited patiently in the waiting rooms. Once I saw the nurse leave Blue's room, she came up to me.

* How is he?!

'Blue and the baby are doing fine, it was just a-'

* Blue isn't pregnant.

'I...uh...you should really talk to him, his vitals have stabilised now...'

I thanked her and dashed to Blue's room. An IV was attached to him and there was a monitor attached to his tummy, which looked way bigger than before. Had he used magic to hide it?!

* Blue..Blue how could you hide this from me?!

He sat up.

* That's our baby, our life...h-how could you just keep this from everyone?!?!

* I...I was scared...

* Scared of what?!

* Scared of you hurting them!

Blue burst into tears.

* I was scared, okay?! I was scared of everyone and everything! It's been so many years since something BAD happened then Luna dies in front of me...in front of US! What if something happened to the baby?!

I went up to blue and held his cheek.

* I swear on everything that nothing will happen to this baby. I'll make sure of it, trust me.

I hugged Blue...none of us had gotten over it, and we never would.

But we had to be there for one another.

* How far along are you...?

* ...I think 6 months, or maybe a bit more..? I only found out a few weeks after we started again...

A few hours after we were able to go back home. The others were happy to see Blue home again, but shocked to see a baby bump.

* I'm really happy for you both. :)

Dream hugged Blue gently and smiled at me.

We had another chance to do things right.
