Clary walks out of the room and I hug Luke before copying and following her to the living-room where I notice the absence of Alec and Simon but decide to ask later. "I know where the cup is." Clary announces. 

"Come again?" Jace says. 

"the tarot cards, my mum she must have painted them years ago, the mortal cup has to be hidden inside the ace of cups, the card looks exactly like it." Clary explains, only to notice the look Jace and Magnus share. "Why aren't you all happy about this all we have to do is find, Dot." Clary quickly realizes the issue. 

"If Dot had the cards when she was taken we don't have much time, if Valentine gets his hands on the cup then-" Magnus cuts Jace off. 

"we would know if Valentine started creating shadow hunters or gained control of demons it would be like Beyonce riding on a dinosaur through times square. people would notice." 

"But he can control demons I've seen it." Clary points out. 

"Paying off a few demons is easy especially since they rarely stay alive long enough to collect." Magnus responds to her. 

"I'm still waiting on Valentine's thankyou card." I chuckle and walk over to Jace and wrap one arm around his waist while he wraps one around my shoulders. 

"Opening the gates to hell, that's a little more tricky." Magnus explains to Clary. 

"Valentine doesn't have the cards, I do. they're in my desk back at the precinct when Clary and Adelina went missing I went to the loft and cleared everything out 'cus I didn't want the circle to track them." 

"That's great." I say in response to Luke with a smile. "This should be easy." 

"That's what general Custer said." Mags says making me smile slightly wider. 

"Magnus is right, Valentine has spies almost everywhere, even in the NYPD we have to be discreet." 

"Does he have any in the institute?" I ask myself to low for anyone to hear, it honestly wouldn't surprise me if there was someone in the institute spying because I know how a lot of them feel towards down worlders due to their 'demon blood' not being as good as our 'angel blood' 

"Discreet, you look like something out of the mummy movie." Clary points out and I laugh with a nod. 

"We'll go in the morning, werewolf healing remember." Luke reminds us. "This is nothing a couple hours of beauty sleep can't fix. 

I nod and turn to Jace. "I assume Alec returned to the institute?" I ask and Jace nods in return. "I'm going to head back there then. I'll see you tomorrow when you return with the cup." I kiss Jace on the cheek and give him a hug before going over to Magnus. "I expect to be asked on a date soon, Alec and Jace have the excuse that they are busy while Raphael can't go out in the sun, so I expect a formal invite." I say with a cheeky smirk as I kiss Magnus on the cheek as well. 

"How about you call me when you are free and I'll portal us to Italy for fine Italian cuisine." I nod and kiss his cheek. "Want me to create a portal for you?" I shake my head. 

"No, I'm gonna call Raphael and see if he's free as I haven't seen him recently." Magnus nods as I kiss his cheek once again. 

"Stay safe kitten." I nod and head out of the loft. I send a message to Raphael with the address and asking if he wanted to join me on my walk back. I don't receive a reply but thirty seconds later he is standing beside me with a smile. 

"Hello Mio amore." He says as he takes my hand and kisses it gently. "I have greatly misses you, what have you been up to?" He asks me politely. 

"Oh just the usual, summoning a greater demon to help Clary get her memories back and then killing said demon when she broke the bond enclosing it, meeting another one of my mates, going to the seelie realm, unlocking more of my extra skills, saving my sister and best friend from werewolves, saving my dad figure from dying, finding out all of my parents' past and realizing I had a twin brother that is dead. so yeah a completely normal few days." I say with a sigh as I lean my head on Raphael's shoulder as we walk. "You?" 

"Pretty boring, and nothing compared with your days. except for the fact that, that mundane friend of yours came to the hotel the other day and I had to send him away. Camille bit him and gave him her blood so he's a bit unstable for the time being but he will be fine if he stays away." I nod. 

"I will make sure to talk to him often to make sure he is okay and doesn't get himself killed." Raphael nods and we enjoy the rest of the walk in a calming silence. when we reach the institute I kiss Raphael's cheek and give him a hug before turning and walking into the institute. 

when I walk in I go to my room and throw on some pj's and a dressing gown before going to Alec's room just down the hall. I knock and wait for him to tell me to come in before opening the door. "I thought you would probably be staying with Jace and Clary at Magnus'." Alec says when he notices its me. I walk over to him and wrap my arms around him and lean into his chest as he copies my movements by wrapping his own arms around me and resting his head on my head. "What's wrong?" He asks worriedly. 

"I found out about my parents past and that I- I had a twin brother but, he.... he died in a fire that Valentine set and almost killed me which is why I lost several years of my life as I didn't age while I was healing. Oh and we found out where the cup is, Clary and Jace are getting it in the morning as they can't get it right now." 

"I'm sorry you had to hear about your brother that way. I'm not sure what I would do if something like that happened to Izzy." I nod and close my eyes. "Come on, you can stay with me- if you er, want to." I smile and nod as Alec leads me over to his bed and pulls back the covers for me before walking over to the couch confusing me. 

"What are you doing over there. you are my mate, just come sleep here with me." Alec blushes but does as I say and climbs in beside me. I lay my head on his chest as he wraps his arms around me. "Goodnight Alec." 

"Goodnight angel."
