dark reflection - 1

------------------------------

My sleep is filled with only pleasant dreams despite al l of the chaos circulating in my life right now. When I wake up I am thoroughly refreshed and ready for the first cabinet meeting I will be attending. I look over my shoulder to find Cas still fast asleep and smile at the sight. I peck his lips before sitting up only to be hit with the cold air on my bare chest. I shiver and quickly grab a blanket to wrap around myself before getting up.

I catch myself in the mirror and pause to admire the many fresh marks now littering my skin with a deep blush. After awhile I stop and find something to wear. I find Acacius' walk in wardrobe half filled with clothes in my size and smile.

most of the clothes are fancy dresses and I settle on a mint green dress with pink flower adornments that I found beautiful. I pair it with a matching pair of heels and step out.

"morning." Cas says from the bed causing me to jump in surprise. "Did you sleep well?"

"Yes, thankyou." I reply before walking over and pecking his lips again. "you?"

"yes, my dreams were very pleasant." He replies. "Give me some time to get dressed and then I will walk you to the dining room for breakfast.

"Okay." I respond as he stands and I don't hide my eyes admiring his nude body. I look up to see him smirking at me. "What, I'm just admiring."

"I wont be long." He says before he walks into the walk in closet to get dressed. While I wait for him I curl my hair.

Once he is done we walk together to the meeting room where I find the others already waiting for me to start. I go straight to Magnus and wrap my arms around him. "How's Alec." I ask concerned.

"Struggling." I nod and press a kiss to his cheek before pulling away and wrapping my arms around Raphael.

"You look gorgeous mi amore." I blush and press a kiss to his cheek. "Are they treating you well?"

"Yes, I'm fine, don't worry. Let sit." He nods and takes a seat to my left with Magnus to my right. Cas bows his head to Amara and smiles at me before leaving.

The meeting goes much as I expect it too with Amara stating that the Shadowhunter's cannot be trusted and that the clave is nothing but a bunch of liars while me, Magnus and Luke fight that now that Luke is the head of the New York institute and that I would ensure that I would fulfil my role and keep the entirety of the shadowworld safe.

We end with Amara agreeing to hold off on outright attacking the Clave but don't accomplish much more than that. Once I say my goodbyes I head straight back to Cas's room frustrated. "Flower? what's wrong?" Cas asks as I flop down onto the bed.

"Amara refuses to believe that we can trust the Clave. She seems to think the only shadowhunter she can trust is me and that's only because I'm not a shadowhunter but an angel. I am agree that we can't trust the Clave but Alec is different. He's one of my mates, destined to help me unite the shadowworld he would never do anything to harm it. We can trust Jace, Izzy and Clary too."

"Can we?" I pause and raise myself up onto my elbows to look at him.

"What?"

"Can we trust them?"

"Why wouldn't we be able to trust them?" I ask getting annoyed.

"I mean, Clary fell in love with Jace and hasn't been very good at having your back lately. Jace blindly followed his grandmothers orders and inserted trackers into the necks of downworlder's. And you haven't known Izzy that long, she has her secrets." I pause at this unsure on what to say. "And as you said Alec IS different. He is the mate of an angel and in love with a warlock but he is also the head of the New York institute, he has to think about them first."

"But their my family."

"I know, and I'm not saying they can't be trusted." He pulls me to him so that I am sat on his lap. "But you have to be careful with who you trust and how much you trust them. For example, if it came between saving you or saving all of my people I would choose you without hesitation and I believe your other mates would make the same choice."

"But you all know I wouldn't want that. I can look after myself."

"That doesn't mean you have to." There is a knock at the door. "Come in." A woman comes in with a tray of food that she places on a table before bowing and leaving. "lets leave these thoughts to rest and eat instead." I nod and stand up heading straight to the table.

We chat about random things while we eat straying from the topic of anything related to the shadowworld. I only stop when I receive a message on my phone. I open it and find a text from Clary saying that Elliot is dead and an address. I quickly stand up and go into the closet I throw on a black cropped hoodie that has fishnet on the back and black shorts with blue detailing. "What's wrong?"

"Someone I know had died. I need to go help." Cas nods and grabs a bracelet, a simple gold piece with a gem. He clips it around my right wrist.

"This is a storage stone, so you don't have to carry around that bag all of the time." I smile and hover my bag above the gem and watch as it enters the stone. "Thought it might be useful."

"Thankyou." I kiss his cheek and hug him. "I'll be back at the next meeting, will you tell Amara I said goodbye?"

"Of course." I smile and rush out of the room, I don't stop until I am at Elliot's shop that Clary sent the address to.

"if he comes after it again I'm going to have to deal with him"
