interlude 2 

"Coming." I call out as I put on black heels and walk to the door. "Hey." I say when I find Jace standing there in a tux.

"You look gorgeous." He says after a few moments of staring as I smile and blush in return. "Shall we get going?" He asks as he holds out his arm for me to take.

"We shall." I say as I hook my arm through his, sending a smile to Izzy before we go. "How are we getting to the restaurant, no offence but you cannot drive." I say with a slight smirk.

"Magnus has agreed to portal us there." He says just as I spot the warlock in question.

"Hello kitten, you look amazing as always." Magnus says as he gently kisses my cheek. He pulls away and creates a portal for us. "I hop you enjoy your date." He says with a smile that I return as Jace leads us through the portal.

We arrive at a nice five star restaurant that is relatively quiet and smile. "table for two under the name Herondale." Jace says to the woman standing at the host strand.

"Of course right this way sir and madam." She says as she leads us to a table for two towards the back of the restaurant. "Here are your menu's someone will be over to take your drinks order in a minute." We both nod and sit down opposite each other as the woman walks away.

I look at the menu the hostess gave me and find something I might enjoy. I quickly settle on a chicken parmesan casserole with pasta that looked quite delicious. when another waitress comes over (this one staring non stop at Jace causing her to get on my nerves) I order a glass of lemonade and a ice-cream milk shake to satisfy my sweet tooth while Jace just gets a lemonade, opting to not drink.

A short while later our drinks arrive and we both order. I get the pasta and Jace gets a steak. We talk quietly while we wait for our food and it was honestly amazing. We decided to share a slice of cake together as I was full but couldn't turn it down after I laid my eyes on it which in turn caused Jace to laugh at my struggling Face, which caused me to smack him lightly.

When it came time to pay one glare from me and Jace keeps quiet as I hand over fifty percent plus tip and Jace does the same. We decide to walk back to the institute instead of calling Magnus for a portal but I have a better idea. "What?" Jace asks as he sees the smirk making its way across my face. "Ads you're kinda freaking me out and I fight demons for a living." This causes my smirk to widen.

"Oh well, just that I didn't feel like walking." I say as I manipulate the energy around me so I am slightly hovering beside Jace no longer moving my legs.

"If that was the case angel, I could always carry you." Jace says with a sly smirk.

"Or I you." I say with a matching on causing Jace's eyebrows to furrow.

"What?" He asks before his feet are suddenly off the ground. "Woah, okay Angel that's enough." He says as we slowly begin to raise. "What if a mundane spots us?" He points out and I laugh lightly.

"They can't." I say just as we pass through the clouds. "Isn't it beautiful Jace?" I ask my mate as I look out at the sun setting in-between the tall buildings.

"Yeah, you are." He says and I turn to find Jace staring at me. "I love you Adelina." He says as he steps forwards seemingly forgetting he is floating and needn't do that as he comes closer to me. "And I am so glad I am one of the select few who get to be by your side as you unite the shadow-world." By now he is right before me and places his hands on my hips. "Because I couldn't think of a better angel for the job." With that his lips descend onto mine.

We stay like that for awhile, wrapped up in each-others arm in-between the stars. When we pull away were both smiling softly and I feel like the seventeen year old girl my body looks like. "Dance with me?" I ask softly as I step back and offer my hand.

"Bit cliché don't you think?"

"I happen to like certain cliche's." I reply.

"We haven't got any music." Jace retorts and I pause to think before grabbing my phone out of a small bag I had brought with me and select some music. Jace laughs slightly before taking my hands and swaying to the music. "You know I am sort of glad Valentine is alive." Jace says and my eyes snap up to his in shock. "Don't get me wrong I hate him, It's just that without him I don't know when we would have met."

"We met outside pandemonium on Clary's birthday that has nothing to do with Valentine." I point out confused.

"Yes but without Valentine I doubt you would have believed me when I said I was your soulmate, especially as your mum was keeping everything about the shadowworld away from you." He explains as he rests his head in my neck.

"I would have felt it, the bond is all I would have needed to believe it as there was no other possible explanation for it." I stop the music and use the energy around us to put my phone away as I push Jace away slightly so I am looking into his eyes. "No matter what I would still have fallen in love with you and Alec, and Magnus and the rest of my mates because it was destiny." I say before Jace's lips descend on mine in a hungry fashion.

I kiss back and without realizing I begin to lower us back to the ground. When our feet touch solid ground outside the institute I jump up into Jace's arms and he hooks one arm under my ass and the other on my back as he begins walking to his room. When there our clothes are quickly gone and we spend the night in fiery passion.
