On infernal ground -1

The following day we all go to Idris for Clary's Rune ceremony. I turned down the offer to join her as I want her to have a day just about her. She looks beautiful in her white dress. I stand with Alec and Izzy when Clary comes over afterwards. "Congratulations." Izzy says as she hugs her, I follow shortly after. 

"Thankyou."

"How did it feel?" Alec asks her. 

"It uh, it hurt. no it was amazing, just a little embarrassing with all of these people around." 

"Don't be modest, The defeat of Valentine wouldn't have been possible without you Ris." I say with a smile. 

"I'm gonna go find Mum. Clary you should probably  mingle some more." Clary nods at Izzy's words and leaves me and Alec alone. 

"There's more to the story isn't there. Lina, what happened at the Lake?" 

"Jace already told you, we don't know." 

"I felt Jace die, he says he has no idea why but I know he is lying." 

"I don't know Alec. It was pure chaos. Valentine was trying to raze Raziel and Jace was dying and my powers were spiraling, I don't really know what happened. All I can clearly recall is Jace being stabbed and then me stabbing Valentine." I feel tears come to my eyes and Alec pulls me into his chest. "I thought he was dead too Alec, I don't want to think about that night ever again, pleeeeeeeease Alec." 

"It's okay, it's okay. Jace is alive and that's all that matters." I nod but don't say anything more. I only pull away when another shadowhunter starts to talk to Alec. 

"I'm gonna go find Jace." I say before pressing a kiss to his cheek and walking away. I head to the bathroom to fix my make-up before heading to the cemetary of the disgraced where i thought I saw my blonde shadowhunter mate wander off to. I find him standing before his parents graves. "You okay?" 

"This is the closest I've ever gotten to them. too bad it's in the cemetery of the disgraced." 

"They weren't bad people Jace, they just made a terrible mistake. They put their trust in my father." 

"Isn't your father god?" I narrow my eyes playfully at his joke. 

"Fine my surrogate father." I stay silent for a moment. "We need to tell Alec what I did. I don't want to relive that night again but he deserves to know. He's my mate and your Parabatai." 

"No. I don't want to worry him further, bringing back the dead has consequences, I don't want him to deal with them too. And the more people that know the more likely it is to get out and you end up like Ithuriel did. no-one can know." I nod slightly conceding. 

"I think the party might have winded down by now, I'm gonna see if Alec wants to go to Magnus's tonight." 

"I'm gonna stay at the institute then." I nod and link arms with him as we walk back throw the cemetery to the party. 

I find Alec talking to a member of the clave and release Jace to walk over. "Do you mind if I steal him away?" 

"Be my guest." The other shadowhunter responds and I link arms with Alec pulling him away. 

"Do you want to see Magnus with me?" 

"Of course." I nod with a smile before stepping through the prepared portal taking us back to the institute. I then grab his hand with a smirk moving the energy beneath our feet to lift us up. I don't wait and instead send us soaring in the direction of Magnus's apartment causing Alec to let out a small cry of shock before staying silent until we land. "What I am impatient." I don't wait for him and instead push through the door to the apartment and walk past a beautiful blonde woman coming out making me narrow my eyes and pout at my warlock mate.
