After that incident everyone left very quickly and the three of us say goodbye to Madzie who refused to let me go causing me to smile. After we finally managed to get her to separate we leave and return to Magnus's apartment. Honestly I am confused on why I bothered to buy a house, Simon's the only one the uses it and even then he mainly stays at his boat shack. 

I wake up the following morning feeling extremally relaxed and check my phone. I have a message from Simon telling me he needs to speak to me ASAP and a message from Leo asking if I am free tomorrows to have dinner with his family. I instantly text Leo responding yes and tell Simon I will meet him at the Jade wolf in an hour before getting up. 

I throw on some clothes just as Alec steps into the room. "morning." I say with a sleepy smile, still not fully awake. 

"Morning." Alec leans down to kiss me gently but we both pull away at the sound of the front door opening. We watch as Lorenzo Ray makes his way into the apartment causing my mood to drop. 

"I didn't want to give you the chance to avoid me." 

"Why would I do that?" 

"because you thought you could get away with sabotaging my party. the ley line under my home was intentionally corrupted. I knew you were petty, I just didn't realize you'd go this far to make me look bad." 

"You say my eyes, my magic was as useless as anyone's." 

"An exposed mark proves nothing." I almost go out there to snap at the man accusing my mate but Alec holds me back gently. "You think I don't recognize Asmodeus' handiwork when I see it?" This leaves me slightly confused on what a greater demon has to do with him accusing Magnus. 

"I haven't seen Asmodeus in centuries." 

"Yet you do know him. far better than anyone else in this dimension." 

"I know what he's capable of."

"More importantly, you know how to use his demonic magic." 

"if Asmodeus truly escaped from Edom, all of New York is in danger. Now, as high Warloc, it's your-" 

"My job is to keep my people safe, Bane. And if I have to banish problematic warlocks to the lower reaches of the spiral labyrinth for their crimes, then so be it." I don't think I am just out of the room and sending Lorenzo Ray. "What?" He looks around confused before his eye's land on me. 

"You dare to threaten my mate without any proof. if you do that again to my mates of anyone else I will take you apart piece by piece using heavenly fire. So unless you want to die I suggest you leave immediately. A look of terror washes over his face before he gulps and stands. he brushes himself off trying to be dignified before turning and leaving the apartment. 

"Why would Lorenzo accuse you of working with a Greater demon?" Alec asks. "especially one like Asmodeus." 

"Asmodeus and I have a history. He's one of the few demons capable of doing something like this."  I feel myself calm down now that Lorenzo is gone and sit down on the sofa deciding not to participate in the conversation.

"but we've fought greater demons before. But I've never seen anything like what happened at that party." 

"It has to do with the ley lines." 

"Couldn't that mean the Seelie Queen is involves, what do demons have to do with ley lines?" 

"healthy ley lines are the energy source for all magic, Seelie and warlock alike, but they can become corrupted. Asmodeus isn't just a greater demon. he's the most powerful prince of hell. And if Lorenzo's right, what happened at the party is just the beginning." 

"And, and you knew him personally?" Alec asks causing Magnus to pause before speaking. I stand up and step closer concerned. 

"Asmodeus is my father." 

"Oh." I say surprised but not hurt like he seems to think we're going to be. 

"Look, I'm sorry I never told you both. I was ashamed." 

"We don't choose our parents Magnus." 

"Says the only daughter of God." 

"Touché." 

"I knew every warlock had a demon parent. It just, Asmodeus." Magnus looks down ashamed. "Well, we have to stop him." 

"first we need to track him down. And my father... his magic is unique. But if I can study the corrupted ley lines we might be able to find him." 

"What are we waiting for?" I ask confused. 

"We need to get into Lorenzo's mansion and I'm afraid we'll never be able to portal through his wards without him knowing." 

"We don't always have to use magic." Alec replies making me smile. 

"Well I wish you both the best of luck but I have to go see Simon. I love you both." I kiss both of them briefly before leaving and heading over to the Jade wolf. "Simon?" I call out as I enter his home. 

"Lina?" he calls back before he is suddenly Infront of me. Simon presses a brief kiss to my lips before pulling away to begin his cute rambling. "Okay, so Luke told you how Rebecca was taken by the seelie queen and that she betrayed us and sided with Valentine." I nod and he continues. "Well she wouldn't let us leave until I agreed to come back so I did and she made me sing for her and her court and then she tied me to a tree a branded my forehead with some sort of mark that just vanished and then she let me go."

I stay silent for a moment to let the information wash over me before pushing him down on a chair and climbing onto his lap. "I'll deal with the seelie queen later right now lets figure out what she did to you." Simon just nods as I begin to press my thumb against his forehead causing him to squirm. "did you see what it looked like?" I ask as I drop my hands to his shoulder. 

"I don't know. I can't see my own forehead." I just role my eyes while fighting off a smirk. 

"Well, there wouldn't have been a whole ceremony about it if it didn't do something." 

"What if the ceremony was just for her to get my blood? and now she's making some mutant Daylighter fern." 

"That's not how it works but sure." 

"The point is even if you could find out what the seelie queen did to me, then what, you kiss my boo-boo and make it feel better." I smirk and kiss his forehead. "It was actually a little to the left." I smile and kiss the left side of his forehead. "here." He presses a finger to his cheek. My smile widens and I kiss the spot. He then brings him finger to his lips. "here." 

"Now you're just stealing moves from Indiana jones. " 

"I did learn from the best." He leans forwards and presses our lips together. I smirk as he picks me up and walks over to his bed. 

When the midday sun rolls around I get out of the bed with a smile. "where are you going?" Simon asks from the bed. 

"I'm going to deal with the seelie queen because she has seriously pissed me off."
