I don't hear what Raphael says the real mirror is as I withdraw from my realm and back to the human one. My eyes flutter open and I find Alec sitting there clearly upset. "Alec, what's wrong. What happened?" His head shoots up at the sound of my voice he doesn't waste a second before his arms are wrapped around me and he is pulling me onto his lap. "Alec?" 

"Thank god you're awake. Ads I'm sorry, I'm so sorry that I didn't tell you about the sword. Please please forgive me. I can't loose you too." 

"Loose me too, what do you- " 

"Magnus." He cuts me off. "After you healed Max you collapsed. The silent brothers said you would be fine and Magnus decided to leave. When he left I tried to apologies but he, he decided he needed to do what's best for his people." 

"Oh Alec." I wrap my arms tightly around him deciding it best not to say anything. "It's okay, it's going to be okay." 

"We found Jonathan." I freeze completely unable to speak. He was glamoured as Sebastian Verlac. He attacked Max when he found out and when Clary wouldn't let him leave he attacked her too.

"W-what happened after, is he?" 

"He escaped." I nod relieved. "You saved Max's life." 

"He's gonna be my brother in law one day, You'll need a best man. besides I couldn't just let him die. Raphael says he now holds a fraction of my soul like all of you do. It wont stop him from aging like it does for you but it will make it a lot harder for him to die."

"Thankyou, thankyou." I hear a buzz and turn to find Alec's phone with a new message. He reads over it before sighing. "It's Jace, they need me to discuss the mirror and Jonathan." 

"I'll come." 

"You should rest." He says as he pushes me gently to lay back down before placing a kiss to my forehead. "Me and Jace will both be back soon." I sigh but nod. Alec smiles at me gently before turning and leaving my room. I wait a few seconds before standing up and throwing on fresh clothes and following the way to his office. 

"We're all responsible for this." I hear Alec say as I walk in. 

"Me more so than others." I sigh and sit down next to Izzy. "I was actively looking for Jonathan and Sebastian knew that and in some cases helped me try and find him. Instead he decided to trust Valentine." 

"At least we know Valentine can't get the mortal mirror anymore." Clary said from her perch by the door. 

"I'm not so sure." 

"What am I missing?" 

"even with our pure angel blood, doesn't it seem strange that Clary's runes would eb powerful enough to destroy a mortal instrument? why didn't it destroy the sword?" 

"Because the sword was real that mirror was a fake." I explain. 

"Then why would your mum give it to the warlocks to protect?" Jace asks in response. 

"Because she thought it was, we all did."

"To distract people from finding the real one." 

"The legend says that the mirror is not meant to be easily found, the angels hold the key." 

"The water." Clary suddenly says. "its a reflection." 

"What water, what are you talking about?" Jace asks.

"Lake lin, its not a mirror but the reflection on the lake." 

After some silence Alec speaks up. "I'll set up a meeting with the downworld. You four go and find Jonathan, start at his place and then see what you can find." We nod and then rush out. I stop quickly by my room to get changed before meeting Jace, Clary and Izzy at the entrance.
