76 ~ Betrayal

The silence that follows is so quiet, you could hear a pin drop.

Skye feels the sudden urge to throw up, as she takes in Indra's words. "Clarke was with them?"

"She wanted to spare the wounded, but they didn't listen. She convinced Pike to let me live, so I could deliver a message."

Bellamy runs a hand through his curly hair, his face incredulous. 

Lexa grinds her teeth. "What message?"

"Skaikru rejects the coalition. This is their land now. We can leave, or we can die." Indra says.

The Commander stands. "Send riders. I call upon the armies of the twelve clans. In a day's time, we lay waste to Arkadia and everyone within its walls."

Skye stands abruptly. "Wait. Give me time to fix this."

She tries to walk towards her horse but is stopped by multiple guards.

"I can't let you leave, Skye."

"So, I'm a prisoner now? Just like that?"

"Yes."

"Lexa, let me go to Arkadia."

"No."

"At least let me talk to Kane. We can bring him here." She quickly makes her way to Indra, who is still leaning against the rock. "Indra, I know Kane gave you a radio. A way to signal him. Do it. Please."

The woman looks at Lexa, who gives her a singular nod.

Skye paces the large tent, with Bellamy.

"I just don't get it. Why would Clarke help Pike massacre an army of Grounders?" She asks, hand on her head.

"I don't know. It doesn't make sense. That's not Clarke." Bellamy replies, equally distressed.

Skye tries to wrap her mind around it. Her sister. The girl who wanted to make peace with the Grounders. Who killed Finn to save her people and form a peace treaty.

Why would Clarke do this?

It's been two days since she's seen her, but it feels like years. Something has changed.

Skye has already patched up Indra the best she can, given the circumstances. Lexa stands in the corner, silently thinking.

The flap suddenly opens, and Skye looks up. "Octavia?"

Bellamy hugs his sister, who returns the gesture, before approaching Indra. 

"Where's Kane?" Bellamy asks.

She sighs. "He sent me." She kneels down to her former trainer. "Indra, thank god."

Lexa finally speaks. "How did this happen?"

Octavia stands, face solemn. "Kane lost the election to Pike. Everything's different."

Lexa looks over at Bellamy and Skye, angrily. "Your people voted for this."
