A few minutes later after being in the cool car, we made it to the city.

I knew it was going to be packed but seeing it in person was a different story. I only had a few seconds to look at as many people as possible trying to see if they had a pendant or if I had maybe seen them in Pristine.

On our way to the restaurant, I had my arm hooked with Liam's just so I wouldn't get lost in the crowd. I wouldn't know my way back.

Liam had asked me the basic questions I had practiced with Colby before I left the apartment. Thankfully he didn't ask any follow up questions regarding any information I wouldn't know about this world.

We are both sitting at a small round table for two with a candle in the middle. We had ordered a chicken alfredo. He had it with a Coca-Cola drink and I had it with an iced tea.

"So, what are your plans in life?" He asks while putting some food in his mouth.

Find my love, keep working for Queen Elenora, and become the best warrior Pristine has ever seen.

"Don't know yet. Still figuring stuff out."

He nods his head in understanding and washes down the food with his drink. "What about you?" I ask.

"Well, I'm planning to propose to Noah soon." He smiles looking down at his food.

I gasp and clap my hands quietly. "I'm so happy for you!"

He laughs and looks back at me. "Yeah, I'm a little nervous about it."

"You'll do great."

"Thank you," he begins to play with his food. "Only problem is my parents. They know I'm gay and they disapprove. They still think it's a phase."

A phase?

"You being gay?" I ask.

He looks at me and nods. "They're homophobic. I've tried to change their minds, but they don't understand."

"They disapprove of you loving a man?... I don't understand. You love him."

"Yes, but he's a man."

"He's still a person," I whisper. "You both are."

He smiles at me. "Yes. Guess they're just stuck in the past. They think it's wrong and that God wouldn't approve." He shrugs.

The Gods don't mind. Some of them are also gay.

"Well, don't listen to them. When will you propose?"

"I'm thinking maybe over the weekend. I'm planning a trip for us."

I smile and eat some food.

After a while, and more conversation about random things, we get up about to head out when I see a curtain on fire.
