He turns back to face me and I immediately drag out my dagger placing it in front of his throat. Unfortunately for me, he thought to do the same with his own silver dagger.
He looks in my eyes and smirks. "Well won't you look at that?" He says, not...

We walk over to a diner and make our way in. While waiting to be seated I place my arm around Red.
Nathaniel practically shoots daggers at it.
"Alright, follow me please." The hostess leads us to a table. I pull out Red's seat for her and she gives me a small thank you.
"Hi, I'm Jenny, I'll be your waitress for today, here are your menus," she places the menu in front of us and takes out a small notebook and pen. "Can I get you some drinks?"
Ashton orders a coffee, Nathaniel and Red get apple juice, and I get orange juice.
"Apple juice is far more superior." Red hums next to me while reading the menu.
"Orange juice is what you're supposed to have for breakfast." I answer.
She places her menu down and looks at Nathaniel. "Apple or orange juice?"
Nathaniel looks up at her and back at me. "I prefer apple juice."
"See? Superior!"
"You asked him because you knew he was going to say apple."
"No, I didn't." She crosses her arms trying to hide a smile.
"He literally ordered apple juice a few minutes ago."
Red gasps dramatically. "I didn't know."
"Ash, apple or orange?" I ask.
"Coffee," He deadpans while reading the menu. "Stop bickering like kids and figure out what you want to eat."
Red and I huff and pick up the menu again.
Jenny comes back and takes our order. We all got the same thing. Pancakes with eggs, hash browns, and sausage.
"So, Nathaniel," I start while cutting my pancakes. "How long have you worked at the cat cafe?"
He begins to play with a ring on his pinkie while thinking. "About 3 years now."
"I would like to work there. What do you do?" Red asks, sipping her juice.
"Mainly clean, and make sure there's food and water for the cats. I also keep tabs on them for vet appointments and such." He answers while taking a bite out of the sausage.
Red looks at me.
She has no idea what a vet appointment is.
In Pristine, our pets just see the healers of the realm. The healers work on all creatures.
"That sounds nice." Ashton adds, also confused.
"Scarlett?" A male voice is heard.
Red looks up and smiles at the man in front of us.
"Oh, hi Liam."
"Hey, how are you?"
"I'm doing well, just having breakfast with my friends."
