I speed through the apartment and throw myself on the couch. "She's human!"
"Okay, let's calm down, this can still work out." Scar calms me down.
"I have to stay here." I whisper while looking at the floor.
"Okay wait, we can't just leave you here," Colby says while walking up and sitting next to me. Scar and Nate are standing in front of me next to the inflatable bed. "What if you bring her with us?"
I look up at Colby. "She has an entire life here; I'm not going to just take her away into a realm where she would have trouble fitting in with the others."
"She can make new friends?" Colby whispers.
"I meant, she's a human in a realm with dragons, vampires, werewolves, fairies, and a lot of other creatures the humans think are fake. She could be in danger. What if she catches on fire by accident when I huff?" I exclaim.
"We can protect her."
I shake my head and slump down. "This would be so much easier if my mate was a creature."
Scar walks forward, sits next to me on the other side of the couch, and places her tiny hand on my shoulder.
"It's gonna be alright," she murmurs. "Why don't we invite her to karaoke?"
We all turn to her. "Spend time with her, she's your mate. We can figure out the rest along the way. We have time. Let's have some fun while we're at it."
Nate instantly agrees and plucks her off the couch making her sit on the inflatable bed next to him.
"Your face is almost as red as your hair." Colby smirks. Scar hide her face in both her hands.
"We should go tomorrow night then?" Colby asks. "We'll wait for Nathan to come back from work and then we get dressed up and go."
"We also have to find the girl. She was in the apartment so she must live on one of these floors right?" Scar asks.
We all nod. "Perfect, I'll go search." She gets up and goes to the door before stopping and turning back. "Well, she was on her way out so she may not be in right now."
"We can wait in the lobby for a while." Nate adds. Scar nods and they both leave.
Colby and I wait a few minutes making sure Scar is nowhere near the door.
"Okay but what if she's already in the building and they're waiting for no one?" I ask turning to Colby who's leaned back on the couch with his arms crossed and legs spread.
"Then he will have some extra time with his crush." He snickers. "Don't stress too much about your mate. Everything will work out just fine." He assures.
