I felt my legs shaking, my body curling up as the relentless blizzard hailed down on me. Wearing nothing but my Survey Corps uniform, something not designed for the cold, can I point out, I stood at the opening to the Alabaster Icelands, already regretting my volunteering mistake. "Why does Hisui have to be so damn cold for... Why wasn't I born in a warmer region? Better yet, how are you? You're not an ice cube right now, Irida?"
Irida stopped behind me, sweating, waving her hand. "It could be cooler if you ask me; maybe I should bring out Glaceon?"
Rubbing my hands together, I glared at her, ready to call it quits. If it weren't for Zorua keeping by me, I would have turned tail hours ago. "Yeah, well, how about we get this over and done with? Remind me again what your clan saw."
"You seriously don't pay attention to anything we tell you, do ya Y/N?" She huffed, arms crossed. "Your commander tasked you with investigating this mess, didn't he? I hate to be one to repeat myself, so listen up, alright? There's been a sudden mass outbreak all over the Alabaster Icelands. Pokemon that don't usually appear here are propping up and causing quite a hassle. We need you to see why."
Slouched over, I sighed, looking to Zorua. "Well, we're here now, right? Not sure what just Mimi and I can do to help, but we're game."
Irida nodded to this, pointing to the cliffside ahead. "Good, Pearl's main camp isn't too far from here. We'll head there first to see our manpower and supplies; whatever the outbreak is, we'll rely on you to push it back."
"I think you overestimate Mimi and I..."
"Well, that's your fault for not catching another Pokemon! Here, I do not need little Pokeballs like the ones your team carry. On my side, I have a Pokémon as close to me as a sister—as one of my blood."
Taking the empty Pokeball, I stared at it, feeling the same anxiety I once felt before meeting Zorua. I began mumbling to myself, feeling worried. "I don't just want any Pokemon... I would have a full team by now if it were that simple. There are countless different Pokemon out there, and many more beyond that. Finding the next perfect partner, can I do that again, or was Mimi a fluke?"
Zorua barked at me as I looked down at her, getting a determined look, her tail wagging. Smiling, I nodded, clutching my Pokeball tightly. "You're right, girl; our perfect friend awaits us. We'll find 'em; worse comes to wear, we can always catch another Zorua?"
Zorua growled, headbutting my leg.
"Right, no more Zorua. Loud and clear girl..."

"This is not a drill! I repeat, this is not a drill! Rose Tower is under attack! Stop the intruders at once; protect Chairman Rose at all cost!"
The main entrance was blown to shreds as Liligant and Espeon ripped through, taking out all the main threats ahead of us. Running through the smoke with Zinnia, we stormed the lobby, panting. "They don't want us coming in, do they?"
Zinnia scoffed, flipping her Pokeball up and down, looking as the elevator began to descend to our level. "Please, we've fought aliens and beasts from different worlds. What will a bunch of minimum-wage nobodies bring to the table? Isn't that right, Tyranturm?!"
As the elevator opened, Zinnia's Tyrantrum toppled into view as it charged through, caving in the entrance and blocking off the reinforcements. "Are they alright?"
"Best not to think about it. The other elevator, knowing the fat bastard, he's at the top waiting for us."
"Typical evil bad guy." I scoffed as we took the free elevator. "Hop and the others are holding down the fort; I'm sure half the Region is going to be on our ass. Gym leaders, police and maybe even Leon himself."
