KIERA
Today was the last day of my work!!!! Morning was so nice, it gave me energy. I had to clean just 3 rooms and I'd be FREEEE. I went to the first room. The people staying there definitely had a cat. It was white cat hairs everywhere. The second room was smelling of alcohol. Party happened here. Third room was normal. But while I was cleaning I heard someone come in and go out. I didn't know who it was but could be haunted. I didn't care cause Haunting never bothered me anywayyy. I was feeling the movie Frozen today. I got into my cute white flared pants and heel sneakers. And a beige top cause beige and white is always good. I headed of with the Lincoln. I gave my postcards to four bookstores. I was going to return home but I saw another bookstore at the end of the lane. The car wouldn't fit there so I walked. It was a cozy bookstore. It wasn't huge like the ones I went before but it had the pinterest vibe. Yellow lights, wooden shelves, one- seater sofas. There was a woman assembling books.
Kiera: Hello mam. I'm Kiera Wood. These are some postcards I've made. Can you please display them on your store?
Woman: Yeah sure. Leave some here.
Kiera: Okay. These are some samples. If you get any orders, you can contact me on my social media page. The details are at the back of the postcard.
Woman: Okay. Leave those here.
Kiera: Thank you mam.
I kept the postcards on the table and went out of the bookstore. She wasn't showing any interest on them. I tried to peek from the door. She was busy reading from her book. I was lost looking inside when I heard a deep voice
Person: Are you going in or coming out?
The voice was so sudden I got scared. I lost my balance and tripped over a brick. But I was saved from falling. Someone held their hand under my head. I held on his arms for support. I opened my eyes. There was this guy well toned body but he wasn't overly muscular. He had dark brown hair, fair skin , square jaw but most importantly the aqua blue eyes. He looked like a greek god in real life. I regained my balance and started apologising. But I felt a pull on my hair. His blazer buttons were stuck on my hair.
Kiera: Ouchhh!
The Guy: I'm sorry. I won't move.
Kiera: Just one moment.. Please.
I tried hard to detangle the hair but it wasn't working at all.
Kiera: Why isn't this working??
The Guy: Do it slowly.
Kiera: Umm.. Yeah sure.
The Guy: Hold on to my coat.
I held his coat with my hair still stuck to it. He carefully took off his coat and gave it to me.
The guy: I think this way it will be more comfortable.
He went inside the bookstore. After a minute of almost tearing my hair, I managed to detangle at last. This guy was a such a gentleman. He deserved a postcard. I took one from my collection and put it inside the blazer pocket. It was a Burberry coat. God knows how many postcards I need to sell to buy one of these. I went inside the bookstore.
Kiera: Excuse me. I wanted to return this.
The guy: Thanks.
I tried to see were the postcards were. Two were on the table but one was missing. I saw the one on the floor. It felt like someone stabbed my heart because it had stamped shoe marks.
The woman: When did this fall off?
I picked the postcard and tried to wipe of the dirt but it wasn't going away.
Kiera: If you're going to throw the other two away, can I just take it back? I didn't make this to make trash. I'll be going then.
Good thing was Lincoln was waiting for me. In anyone's life, the sad wind blows. It's alright. It blows to pass. I just drove for an hour not knowing where I will end up. It was a nice morning after all. There was a meadow. A beautiful one. Old sayings are always true. You need to see to believe. Looking hurts more than listening. I guess I know where I stand now. My one shoe lace was untied. I was tying it when someone said my name. I knew that voice. I knew--Caleb.
I was wrong. The wind always blows to return. I didn't want to deal with this at all. Caleb was happy to see to me. He was smiling and walking towards me but I wasn't. I started to run the opposite way. But God didn't have his grace on me. I slipped and fell on a slippery end of the meadow.
Caleb: Why are you running away? Am I a ghost?
Kiera: That's right. I thought you were ghost! Why are you here? Why did you come here?
Caleb: How long are you going to stay like that? Is that comfortable?
No it wasn't comfortable. I was on the fucking grass.
Kiera: How can you not stretch out a hand when someone has fallen over?
Caleb: Get on my back. Ghosts can't do that. I am not a ghost so get on.
I didn't want to get on his back. But my right leg was numb. I was so clumsy today. The nice morning was just ruining. So I had no other choice except getting on his back.
Caleb: Hold on tight.
Kiera: I'm holding on tight!
Caleb: No you're not. You whole weight is falling on my hands. I'm getting tired so hold on tightly.
Sometimes I wish I could staple his mouth. I held on tightly. We went to the nearest doctor which was 20 mins from there. The doctor gave me medicine and that worked like marvel. I wasn't feeling pain.
Kiera: Thank you. You can go now.
Caleb: I carried you to hospital bed, do you think I am an ambulance? I'll do as you say or what?
Kiera: I mean, aren't you busy?
Caleb: Since your mouth isn't broken, try to explain yourself. Why did you run away?
Kiera: What running away? I told you I thought you were a ghost.
Caleb: You're not still uncomfortable around me because of what happened five years ago, are you?
Kiera: Uncomfortable?
I snorted a laugh. But it was my pain talking.
Kiera: I'm comfortable. I'm really comfortable. I don't care if you are around me. I could eat, drink and still not be uncomfortable. I won't be uncomfortable even sleeping at your house......
Caleb: Try it then.
Kiera: What?? Sleeping at your house?
Caleb: Except that. Hmm buy me food. Ambulances takes money.
