KIERA
The movie theatre was near. It took us hardly ten minutes to reach. The movie was going to start at fifteen minutes, so we had to wait. There were so many options of food. I wanted a popcorn but I didn't bring money with me. I thought I was going to be on a date, with Ian, who never lets me pay then why bring the wallet, cut to me not on a date, not with a wallet, hungry starving.
Kiera: Wait. I kept my shoes in your car.
Caleb: Shoes?
Kiera: The heels.
Caleb: Oh. Let it be there. While returning take it. If you roam with it, it can get lost.
Kiera: You're right. Anyways there is time left for the movie to start.
Caleb: Do you want popcorn?
Kiera: Nacho popcorn and cola.
I answered that without a breathe. Caleb did his silent giggle thing. I have embarrassed myself so much infront of Caleb that these were the minor ones.
Kiera: I just thought you need to have popcorn for watching a movie.
Caleb: Hmm. Bringing in a sec.
Caleb went to order those. We were going to watch Death on the Nile. I had booked the tickets as it had been a long time since I watched a good murder mystery. The last time I watched a good murder mystery was Knives Out. And that was almost three years ago. I was reading the premise, when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I thought it was Caleb but it wasn't. It was Ian.
Kiera: You came.
Ian: You weren't picking up my calls.
Kiera: My phone is on silent. How were you able to come?
Ian: I escaped...
Ian was saying something but I wasn't hearing. I looked at Caleb who was already looking in my direction. He had his no expression normal Caleb face. He just mouthed 'bye' and left.
Kiera: I need to go to the washroom.
Ian: Okay.
I went to the way Caleb went. He was here for me. I felt bad that he had to leave that way. He wasn't far so it didn't take me much time to catch up to him.
Kiera: Why are you leaving? How can you leave just like that?
Caleb: You looked at me like you wanted me to leave.
Kiera: It wasn't like that--
Caleb: If it wasn't, do you want me to third wheel your date again??
IAN
Kiera had been gone for a long time. The movie was going to start any time now. While searching for her I realised she went to the opposite direction of where the girl's washroom was. She didn't need to go the washroom. It was something else.
KIERA
Kiera: I am not telling you to third wheel. No god NO!!
Caleb: Why did you follow me to leave me twice?
Kiera: It's not like that. I felt bad. How can I leave you behind?
Caleb: You have been doing that for a long time now.
I didn't know what to say to that. I just didn't want him to feel bad. He was acting weird from the time he came to Boston.
Kiera: I don't understand half the time what you say and what you mean.
Caleb: Do you like Ian?
Kiera: What kind of a question is that?
Caleb: Just answer. Do you.. like Ian?
Kiera: I do.
Caleb: Well, this is going to be hard on you but I genuinely do like you Kiera. But I don't wish bad for you. I want you to have a good relationship. Be it Ian.
I never believed dreams come true. My dreams during my teenage years were Caleb somehow confessing he likes me and us having a happy after. Now that he was doing it, it didn't feel real. But it was. Caleb never lied. Be it the harshest truth but he never lied. But now my dreams weren't about being with Caleb. I had left those days behind. Even if Caleb did like me, I didn't need him like I did before. I know a life which doesn't have Caleb Rivera and I seem to enjoy it at last.
Kiera: I hope my relationship with Ian works out well too.
Caleb: Well, I will be leaving then.
I got back to movie theatre and Ian was there standing with a tub of popcorn and cola. I didn't even have to tell him but he read my mind. Ian dropped me to my apartment. I was leaving when he noticed the bandages on my heel.
Ian: How did you get hurt?
Kiera: Oh that.. actually I wore some shoes and it did that to me you see.
Ian: Oh darn those shoes then. How was shooting?
Kiera: It's almost done. We just have one more location to shoot for.
Ian: Oh good then. Goodnight
Kiera: Goodnight
CALEB
I came back home after the nice movie I saw. I confessed. For real. And she heard. And I didn't expect a answer. And didn't get one either. All these numerous pictures of Kiera were telling me that I'd had countless opportunities. But all of those opportunities were regrets now.
