I had to break the news to my parents too. They were newly supportive of Caleb. But agreeing to let me go have a world tour with him, might be a little too much for them. Mom was cutting vegetables while I was gathering courage to talk to her. It's like you take two step forward and four step back. 

Mom: Do you want to say anything?

Kiera: Me? Pfft.. Maybe..

Mom: Say.

Kiera: I am planning to go on a trip.

Mom: Where?

Kiera: Here and there.

Mom: How far?

THE QUESTION!!

Kiera: Around the world.

Mom: Around the world? That will take a long time. What about your work? How will you pay for that?

Kiera: It's not like I work in a office, so it won't be a problem. Plus I have saved up money to open my own workshop. I can use that..

Mom: Did Caleb ask you to join him?

Mom instincts are faster than a bullet train.

Kiera: No...Well he asked me but that's not the reason I am going. I gave it a lot of thought while working on the photobook. I love my job as a calligrapher, but I still want to be a writer. I have always wanted to travel around the world someday, so this is a chance. I can write about my travel experiences once I come back.

Mom was looking at me with a smile. Is this a smile before she kills me?

Mom: Do what you want. 

Kiera: What? You are not against this?

Mom: Why would I go against it? I can't live your life for you. You have to do it on your own.

Was this my mom? 

Kiera: Why are you being so cool?

Mom: You never listen to me anyway.

Kiera: Not listening to you finally paid off..

Mom laughed at me. I loved the thing about us where we go a week without talking but then when we meet on weekends, it's like we have been talking all week.

Mom: It's not like I am always right. Coming to think of it, I have always been against the things you wanted to do. You were doing fine but I was always concerned about you so I pull you down many times.

Kiera: I knew you were just worried. If I were you.. I'd do the same thing.

Mom: I really liked your book. You are doing really well.

Kiera: I am doing great because I am your daughter.

Mom: Hmm.. Hmm.. Make sure you use protection.

WHAT? How can this conversation have this line?? My face became red just at the thought of it.

Kiera: I am not comfortable talking to you about.. that. I am leaving for now, I have to meet Ava and Maeve have to tell them the news too.

(at the cafe)

Ava: WHAT? You are gambling your life away on love.

Kiera: It's not like I am just tagging along.. I am thinking of writing a travel book when I come back. I'll keep uploading my work on social media.

Ava: So you have plans.

Maeve: I see.. I am glad to hear that.

Kiera: I am done talking.. What's going on with you guys?
