Ch 20

CALEB

Once there was a shepherd boy. One day this stupid shepherd boy lied: "Look wolf!! Wolf!!" The neighborhood adults believed the boy's lie and brought weapons to kill it. But there was no wolf. The shepherd boy lied like this for two times, three times. Just for fun. But when a wolf appeared for real, no one helped the shepherd boy. 

My feelings for Kiera was exactly like this. The moment I knew I was feeling something for her, she told me not to flirt with her. She misunderstood me again. I wasn't flirting with her. I was being genuine. I sighed on my life. How shit it could be. I came to Ryan's restaurant after the horrible third wheeling I did on Ian and Kiera's date.

Ryan: Are you guys battling over who can bring down my store faster with sighing?

I realised Theo was sitting beside me. Staring at his phone probably waiting for Maeve's message. He suddenly started typing and then stopped.

Theo: And there she goes again. Always secretive.

(next day)

IAN

Ethan: You need to sign these papers. And you have to meet executive team after lunch.

Ian: Ok.

Ethan: By the way.. did anything happen between you two yesterday?

Ian: There were three people.

Ethan: Since when are you so open minded???

I chuckled at Ethan's outburst. He misunderstood a long way. After paying for the date, I returned to ask Kiera if I could drop her home. When I came near the cabin I could hear Mr. Rivera's voice asking Kiera if he'd be sincere what would she do. Kiera came out soon after and her face was sad. Confused. Hurt.

Ian: If someone's first love comes back, what will happen?

Ethan: If the first love comes back, the person will be torn. First loves are intense. Why Kiera's first love came back?

Ian: Might be.

Ethan: Heyy. Don't worry about it. First loves are never meant to happen. I mean who knew your first love will return as your sister in law--

Ethan then took his hands to cover his mouth like he didn't mean to say that.

Ian: Whatever you just said, was that supposed to comfort me?

Ethan: I am sorry. I didn't mean it like that. Don't fire me. I am your only friend. Please.

Ian: I have to release some steam. Come on. Have a boxing match with me.

Ethan: I said I'm sorry!!!

Ian: Just shut it.

MAEVE

Maeve was looking at her bank account. She had been saving money pretty well for her marriage. Hugo's stunt at school had cost her hard. She was wondering how she will not have a heart to give the money away but won't have much choice in so. She went to the bank employee and told she wanted to end the fund.

Employee: But the maturity period is next month.

Maeve: I still would like it to end.

Employee: Ok wait for 10 minutes.

Maeve's phone buzzed. It was a message from the Asian lady. She texted she got the money and pulled up the charges. She called her mother as fast as she could.

Sandra: Hello--

Maeve: ARE YOU MAD???

Sandra: You startled me. What's the matter?
