AFTER LUNCH — THE COURTYARD

"I can't believe they got to Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna too..." Fluttershy spoke softly as she let a ladybug crawl onto her pointer finger. She and her group of friends were all waiting around the statue in the courtyard, a debrief desperately needed after the events in the cafeteria.

"They've gotten to everybody," Rainbow Dash spoke as she balanced a black and white soccer ball on the top of her head.

"Even your girlfriend?" Rarity smiled when this caught Rainbow Dash incredibly off guard.

Though, she wouldn't be laughing for long. The soccer ball would roll off of the girl's head, hitting Rarity's steady hand painting her nails. She loudly gasped as the pink polish ran from her knuckle to her elbow.

"She's not my girlfriend!" Rainbow Dash yelled with flustered cheeks, picking the ball back up. "I.. just started talking to her a day ago."

"But, no." She continued before anyone could criticize her newfound timidity. "She didn't. She doesn't eat in the cafeteria." Rarity's eyes rolled as she used alcohol to dab the nail polish off of her skin.

"But guess who else wasn't affected?~" Pinkie Pie sung.

"Pinkie Pie's right," Applejack agreed. "We were in the same room when the Dazzlings were singin and we weren't affected. It was like.. we were protected somehow."

Rainbow Dash quickly regained her composure. "So let's take them down! It's not like we haven't tangled with dark magic before and totally whooped its sorry butt!" Her soccer ball in hand, Rainbow Dash paused, slowly looking at Sunset Shimmer.

"No offense.."

She sighed, her arms crossing. "None taken. ...Again."

AFTER SCHOOL — IN [YOUR NAME]'S ROOM

It was transitioning from afternoon to evening and for most "Canterlot Wondercolts," that signified the party for bands participating in the showcase coming closer, but for you, you were peacefully laying on your bed. It was a quiet Thursday and your assigned homework was not due until later in the week. Self-care was your priority at the moment, and, for you, that looked like laying around doing absolutely nothing.

To aid students in weaning off of the showcase, Principal Celestia decided to hold the final event Friday night, which was tomorrow. As for the school day, all classrooms were open for bands to practice, thus actual education was paused and any absences would be automatically excused. So just like earlier this year with the Fall Formal, you would be (gladly) missing out on any more magical discoveries or gossip.

Perhaps if Rainbow Dash asked you to see her band, you would have gone, but you two have yet to even exchange numbers. And to give her the benefit of the doubt, you checked your Snapgap following and she was there, so she did have a way to contact you.

But this was no matter. Sure you two had a rather intimate introduction to each other, eating dinner together hours after first meeting, but she wasn't obligated to keep you around or constantly uphold that intimacy. She didn't join you for lunch today, so she and her friends' miniature showcase was the last you saw of her, meaning you still had yet to get an in-depth explanation about magic. Though, her excuse seemed valid, so you let her off of the hook. Something along the lines of 'tell you later' was yelled across the parking lot.

SLEEPOVER AT PINKIE PIE'S

"So," Rainbow Dash suspiciously started as she flopped onto the bed, next to Twilight, "Twilight."

Rainbow Dash smiled when eye contact signified her attention. "Is there a [Your name] in Equestria?"

The room, sans Twilight and Spike, groaned. Ever since the Dazzlings showed up, they've become less tolerant of each other. The room was subconsciously separated into couples or trios who could withstand one another. However, their annoyance would not come from Rainbow Dash herself, but her obsession with this poor girl. She's had a pitiful, distant crush almost since the beginning of the year.

"Uh..." Twilight trailed off as she thought. "Yeah, I've seen her around. We've only talked once, though."

"Are we, y'know-" Rainbow Dash crossed her fingers, smiling. Twilight blankly stared at her hand, having never seen such a gesture.

"A thing," Rainbow Dash elaborated. "Together. Married?"

"Oh, no. I've never seen you two talk." The blue girl dramatically rolled onto the floor, whining as her face landed on a pillow.

Twilight awkwardly smiled, "But that doesn't mean you haven't?"

Rarity chuckled. "Seems you can't even ask her out in an alternate universe, Darling."

"Shut up! It's not easy, y'know!"

"I would know, actually." Rarity carefully traced her pinky toe with nail polish. It was becoming the same color she painted her nails and Fluttershy's this afternoon. "And it is that easy. You're just scared of rejection. Ask her out on a proper date after all of this is over; relax a little."

"A date?!"

Rarity groaned. "Yes, a date. Get to know each other." Rainbow Dash frivolously shook her head against the pillow.

The former twisted the nail polish cap back onto the bottle, putting foam spacers in between her toes. "Do you have her number?"

"...No." Rainbow Dash's feet kicked in frustration as Rarity scold her. "But I follow her on Snapgap!"

"Give me your phone."

"No!" Applejack notified that it was still in her bag, making Rainbow Dash immediately get up to grab it before Rarity could.

"I can do it."

Her eyes lowered. "Can you?"

"Yes. I'll do it later, in person." Rarity hummed, her tone clearly unconvinced.
