Last edited » July 12, 2024 Author's Note » Because of some criticism (￣∀￣) I got from this book, I will now begin additionally labeling my books as Character x OC since I admittedly do customize the Reader a lot. However, I do that so everyone has an opportunity to relate to something: it warmed my heart when I could get comments saying how someone feels seen because the reader "canonically" had vitiligo and so do they or other bisexuals seeing some rep. (✊), and I like being able to surprise people like that. However, I also understand not liking having certain features predetermined for you when you specifically clicked on x Reader and not OC: I get it and see both sides and my fault/error.
So to compromise, I will put this blurb in Reader Descriptions and in future books (only miscellany is a real "x Reader", as well as a future book I'm planning on publishing called college oneshots when I enroll in August) but still keep my former intentions and continue advertising my books under the Character x Reader category. While, yes, this is a Character x Reader fanfiction and that technically means any and all audiences can read this book, not only do I write with a WOC Reader in mind, but to appeal to certain audiences, I like to explore different cultures.
Here, you are Afro-Japanese and there are certain 'modifications' or definite traits that the Reader has but they are very minor and do not disrupt the reading experience for your appearance is rarely mentioned.
To add to that, this story will be written in the second-person point of view (You/Your subject pronouns) to create immersion and the reader is addressed using She/Her personal pronouns. Characters will refer to you as [Your name] because, to be frank, MLP doesn't have a rigid concept of first and last names so you're free to decide that yourself. [Your name] is an Afro-Japanese, female student who attends Canterlot and is the child of the creators of a famous, non-profit, health organization. She is an employee at Champ Zone and lives alone due to her parents' work requiring constant travel. She was homeschooled until her Freshmen year of high school.
APPEARANCE [Your name] has a slim, curvy figure; her dark, wavy hair reaches her shoulders. While her skin is mostly tan, [Your name] has vitiligo on her face, body, and scalp. The latter causes sporadic, white streaks.
As far as attire, [Your name] is seen in various sweatpants and hoodies. The only times this has changed are sleepovers, doing her hair, and the Legend of Everfree.
PERSONALITY [Your name] has very little care for showing school spirit. Refusing to attend the Fall Formal, she was not at the Battle of the Bands either. Only present at the Friendship Games (per the desperate requests of Rainbow Dash), she did not sign up as a competitor and simply watched from the stands.
