9:36 AM"So how do you know this is Trixie's fault and not mine?" You and Sunset were walking to Trixie's house. You didn't know why or how Sunset knew where the girl lived, but for legal concerns, you didn't ask either. You already had tax evasion on the back of your mind, you didn't need invasion of privacy too.
"...I don't. I just.. don't think it's you. I can check your memories?"
"Well, it would've happened when I was asleep. I wouldn't remember anything."
"...It's still worth a try?" You shrugged and offered your arm. Alas, she found nothing, just 'you and Rainbow sleeping and talking.'
"I really don't think it's you, though." Her heinous attitude returned as Trixie's house was apparently close. "Transforming and actively using magic spells are two different things."
"And if you were just tricking me, if it was you, you wouldn't have wanted me to see your arm just now because you knew you did it. I trust you," she smiled upon the latter.
"...Yeah, I guess." Sunset's mind-reading abilities simply required her to think of a desired memory, so it would certainly be difficult to trick her. Perhaps if one thinks harder than her, she will be forced to see their memory and not the one she wants. You didn't know, though.
You followed behind Sunset as she approached Trixie's front lawn. Looking around as she knocked, the door soon swung open.
"Finally, my foo—" Trixie paused, her blinking eyes flickering between you two.
"...Well, well, well," she smirked, "what will Rainbow Dash think of this, Sunset? Blackmailing her girlfriend?"
you just automatically assumed i'm innocent, that's crazy. what did you possibly do to make everyone's first impression this presumptuous —You looked at Sunset, who scoffed. "Where's the memory stone, Trixie?"
She cackled. "And now you think you can manipulate me? Me? The Great and Powerful Trixie? Begone!"
she's really pretty —As early as it was, Trixie was runway-ready.
Sunset groaned, taking a step forward and now at the same level as the girl. "I'm not playing any games, Trixie! Where's the stupid memory stone?!"
"...I really don't know what you're talking about."
"What, were you dumb enough to erase your own memory too? It looks like this." Sunset snatched the paper out of her pocket, showing it to the girl, but not for too long. "So where is it?"
she really needs to work on threatening and insulting people —You could laugh. You personally would do nothing now after being degraded.
Trixie blinked before slowly smirking. "A stone that could make everyone forget all the bad tricks I've done...?" She softly gasped.
"Which is no tricks!" Trixie's hair swung as she entered a more dominant and self-assured stance. "Your puny rock pales in comparison to the Great and Powerful Trixie!"
Sunset's eyes hardened to berate her some more, but eventually, she saw the same thing as you. Either Trixie was "dumb enough" to erase her own memory, or she truly wasn't responsible for Sunset's misfortunes. In her defense, however, regarding the former, who knows what the requirements of this magical stone were? Perhaps self-sacrifice, and from observing these five minutes and yesterday, some people would be willing to risk that just to get revenge on Sunset.
"...Come on." Sunset solemnly turned around. "I think she's serious."
"Wait!" You two were on Trixie's lawn by now, but you both turned around. "Did someone really erase everyone's memories of you?"
"Yup." Sunset started walking again, so Trixie slid on some sandals before jogging to catch up.
"And you're serious? You really are nice, but.. everyone else knows you're the Biggest Meanie?"
"Except [Your name]," Sunset pitifully smiled, gesturing to you. You waved when Trixie looked over.
"...Is she serious?" she whispered, as if the girl wasn't two inches away from you guys, but you nod.
You could see Trixie's internal conflict. "...I guess I'll help. I can understand having an idea of who you are and who you're supposed to be, but no one else can see that."
Sunset was visibly thankful but realized who she was talking to. "What's in it for you...?" Trixie smirked, offering to show you two.
Sunset gasped. "No way! Absolutely not!"
"Hm," Trixie happily hummed. "Then I wish you the best of luck, truly. It's not like it's summer and your perpetrator might not even be in Canterlot anymore."
Trixie feigned a gasp as she got to her door. "Oh wait! It is." Sunset stammered for a few seconds before succumbing. She was desperate for her friends' once warm welcome. Trixie requested that you two give her food time to arrive, as well as allow her to get appropriately dressed.
"Do you know if the girls will be hanging out all together again soon?" Sunset looked at you. You two sat on Trixie's front doorstep. "Might need them to pony-up and defeat another villain."
"No, but I could try to arrange something when you need it." She nod, adding a please.
