THE NEXT DAY
6:33 AM

"...You're awake?" You groggily looked towards Dash's voice. First of all, how did she even know? You didn't even know you were awake.

She smiled. "You got your wish. You fell asleep while we were sitting, but your ears went away. It's the next day now. You slept for 12 hours."

You immediately gasped, frantically patting the top of your head. They really were gone. "まじかーま"
- Majika → Oh my god (lit. Seriously)

You sat there in disbelief for a few seconds. The two weeks of torture were finally over. Once your still half-asleep mind caught up with reality, all you could do was laugh. Dash joined you.

"You're the best thing to happen to me." You opened your arms so Dash could lean closer. Kissing her, you laughed at her forming blush.

She stammered for a few seconds. "This doesn't mean it's over! We're still.. training, and stuff... But I'll let you relax for the rest of the day. We can start again tomorrow, or the day after that."

"And I'll cook. You deserve to chillax a little- a lot, actually."

"I just wanna sleep."

"...You can after you eat," Dash smiled, offering her hand so you could get up.

You took it. "I'm not dreaming, right?" Nor Japanese or English - or even Spanish - came out as you rasped when Dash pinched your arm.

i actually might've cried if i was dreaming   -She led you to the couch, getting a blanket from the closet on the way down.

wait   -"Do you even know how to cook?" You noticed Dash's lips pursing inwards.

"Don't worry about that."

if this house burns down- who's even paying the bills if my parents..? aren't? am i gonna get arrested   -You shook your head and decided that didn't concern you at the moment. If it hasn't been a problem in the last 17 years (or maybe only 1 and 1/2) it wasn't a problem now.

The absolute last thing you wanted was for your ears to come back from more stress. You had to wear earplugs during school just so you didn't go insane from hearing 10+ conversations at once.

Sitting down on the couch, you decided to lie down and (non-shamefully) stare at Dash as she walked to the kitchen. Watching her open the refrigerator, you concealed a snicker as she blankly stared.

"I heard that." You covered your face with the cover as you loudly laughed.
.
.
.

"[First name]." You opened your eyes; Dash was standing above you, a steaming bowl in her gloved hands.

when did i go to sleep- i need to stop doing this. i'm starting to get concerned   -You sighed as you sat up but first pat your body to make sure you were still human. When everything checked out, you held out your hands to take the food.

"It's hot, hold it at the bottom. There's a napkin." You didn't even notice, but considering you were 5 seconds into awareness, you didn't worry too much.

"Sorry."

"Don't apologize." Dash sat down beside you. "I.. can't imagine what you're going through. I would sleep everything away too."

i guess i can't really say it's fine. it's not, but it's not the worst thing in the world. my grades are fine, so that says something   -You nod in acknowledgment. She made ramen, and considering the visual quality of noodles, Dash made the meal on your stove. She was thoughtful enough to give you chopsticks.

"Do you mind if I tell Sunset we.. somewhat fixed the problem?" Dash smiled. You shook your head as you blew on the noodles.

You covered your mouth as you chewed. "Have you eaten?"

"Yeah, I ran to that bakery down the street while you were asleep, but I wasn't gone for more than 5 minutes. I ran back here and waited when they made my food so you weren't alone—It was a bagel."

"That's good." You were willing to share your meal if she hadn't.
