Author's Note » no particular order, just some cute little fillers to establish some things did happen but i don't wanna drag out this book by making them their own chapters

DASHYPOO

You laughed at Dash's reaction to the ludicrous nickname. Your head lying in her lap, her raging blush was the most prominent.

Relaxing your tongue to exaggerate your Japanese accent, you held Dash's face and brought her closer to yours as you cooed. You have found out that Dash has a soft spot for both your Japanese and your Japanese accent while speaking English.

You pecked her lips, smiling, "新しいニックネームは好きですか, ダッシュ?"
- Atarashī nikkunēmu wa sukidesu ka, Dasshu? → Do you like your new nickname, Dash?"

You spoke in a singsong tone, "Dashypoo?"

"You're so embarrassing!" You laughed, but despite her flustered state, Dash let you keep your hands on her face and accepted one last kiss.

(KA)

"[Nickname]." You looked over at Dash. You two were in her backyard, sitting around the kiddie pool that Tank was in. It was apparently time for the tortoise to have a bath, and Dash took the opportunity to show you how it's done.

"Do questions in Japanese end in 'ka'? You sometimes say it and it sounds like a question since your voice goes higher at the end of the sentence."

You nod, "うん, but 「か」 can also be 'either' or 'or', and the... 'something', 'anything', or 'someone' in English. I don't know what they're called."
- Un → Yeah

"But, yeah. If you add 「か」 to the end of a sentence, it should turn it into a question. 「今日は暑いです」 is 'It's hot out today' but 「今日は暑いですか?」 is 'Is it hot out today?'"

"But not all questions end in ka, but sentences that end in ka are questions. Ka is also formal, so... It's a little complicated, but yes, to basically answer your question." She chuckled.

LOVE

"What's 'I love you' in Japanese?" You glanced at Dash before looking back down at your phone.

"It depends on how much you want it to mean."

"What's the scale?"

"Hm..." You thought for a few seconds.

"...In increasing order: 好きやねん、すきだ、だいすきだ、and あいしてる is the most meaningful."
- Suki yanen, saki da, daisuki da, ai shiteru

"Which one would you say to me?" You smiled as you looked at her.

"I've already said 'I love you' to you."

"So it hasn't changed?" You couldn't tell if Dash was genuinely saddened by this. Her smile was still mischievous.

"No, it has." You looked back at your phone. "You'll hear it when you hear it." You laughed as Dash groaned in annoyance.

DUOLINGO

"[Nickname]." Dash was waiting for you to lift your head from her chest before continuing; you hummed instead. It was too comfortable to move.

You two were spooning in your bed with a fan blowing in the general direction. Dash has made staying at your house for long periods of time a regular thing, but you excused this clinginess considering that in less than two weeks, you would be with your mom and dad for the entire month of July.
