LUNCH

maybe i am actually just psychic —You and Dash finished the mirror maze exactly as yesterday, and your morning was akin. Everything she said one day prior was said verbatim again today, even 'Starswirled Day One!' and you still had to grab her paddle and prevent her from hitting Sunset.

thought i discovered everything —You won the obstacle course, Applejack still received a sore foot but was compensated with a backstage pass, and you and Dash's conversation on the water was the same. Yet, you still laughed when she asked to play mermaids. It was so dumb.

When you two sat down for cheesesteaks, Dash was the one who joked about your clairvoyance, and you honestly believed her at this point.

oh, that's new —You looked up when Sunset was running over.

"Hey, Rainbow, need your girlfriend." She grabbed your arm and pulled you up from beside Dash.

"A- What? What are you-" She simply sighed as you were pulled to the forest. You could see her visibly thinking about getting up to follow but she stayed to likely protect your two's food and drinks.

"Do you have déjà vu?" Sunset urged, holding your shoulders.

is this your fault —You sighed. "I thought I was psychic... Actually, I'm glad I'm not, I have enough on my plate. Yes, I have déjà vu." She seemed relieved.

"What'd you do this time?"

"I didn't do anything!" She let go of you. "I literally had the worst day yesterday! I didn't get to see PostCrush and the best I could do is sit on a stupid hill and watch the stupid lights from the show and wished..." She stopped.

"Gotta go!" She ran off. "Meet me on the hill tonight!"

okay... —You made your way back to Dash, who was delighted.

"What did Sunset want?"

"You know how we were joking that I'm psychic?" She nod. "I think it's actually more magic."

"Again?! Who? What's wrong?"

"I think it's more 'what.' No one seems off." Not even the Dazzlings. There were no teenage, zombie armies, but you did suspect them earlier today. "Sunset seems to know what she's doing, though. She ran off after an epiphany."

"...We're still staying close together today," Dash declared. "We don't know what we're up against."

"That's okay," you smiled. "But it might just be a genie or something. She said something about a wish."

"Still." You shrugged.

NIGHTTIME — CAMPGROUNDS

"こんばんは," you greet Sunset. She turned around.
- Konbanwa → Good evening

You sat down with a smile. "Second time."

She chuckled. "Yeah... At least we're all friends this time around."

"I do still feel bad about that. I didn't want to make you feel isolated."

"No, what Rainbow said was right. No one would've believed you, especially because of your mental health at the moment. You did the right thing, the right thing was just painful."

She looked at the show lights in the distance. "She had the rock in her hand and still hesitated, and Rainbow doesn't hesitate about you."

really —Your eyebrows raised, but you didn't let the conversation sidetrack for too long. "Did you meet a genie or something over here? You said something about a wish."

She groaned. "I wished that... I could do the day all alone and see PostCrush, and I was alone on this hill but there wasn't a genie, so I guess the universe took me up on it or something?"

oh, that's not too bad —"I don't know how I'm supposed to help then," you smiled, "unless you think someone was spying on you?"

"No, I don't have any leads. It was just nice to know I'm not alone again, have someone to talk to." Sunset looked at you. "Wonder why you're not affected by magic?"

well, i'm allegedly not from this world —"Celestia said I'm not from Equestria or Canterlot, so it probably has something to do with me being from the Heavens and probably, technically, not having a physical body for magic to affect me."

"...Yeah, that would make sense - I asked Twilight about this when I ran off and she said 'It's possible that yesterday, a snag in the fabric of spacetime could cause a temporal point – i.e., today – to fold in on itself and thereby repeat,' or a time loop, in simple words."

"So how do you... unsnag the fabric of space and time?"

"...I don't know." She laughed. "Maybe if I see PostCrush tomorrow? Fulfill my wish?" You nod with a shrug.

"Don't see why not." You got up as it seemed all Sunset needed was a second opinion.

"Good night. I'm here if you need anything, though."

"Could I say 'kochira koso' to that?" Along with Dash, her friend group has picked up on some Japanese phrases thanks to you. You stopped to think.

"...No, it'd be a little weird." Sunset laughed with a soft 'Oh.'

You smiled, "No, it's okay. 「こちらこそ」 expresses gratitude more than it... simply returns a phrase. It's meant for situations like 'Good luck', 'Nice to meet you', 'Thank you', or 'Sorry', but you've seen me use it otherwise."
- kochira koso

"It's very interpretational but any Japanese person would understand you meant to say 'Good night to you too' and appreciate the effort at our language. But, if you're wondering, the appropriate response would be 「おやすみ」, which is 'Good night'. I would have said 「おやすみ」 and you would just say 「おやすみ」 back."
- oyasumi

Sunset then smiled, "Oyasumi."

"おやすみ," you chuckled, now walking away.
