You groaned as you stirred awake. The back of your head was comforted by a cushion, which was nice, but you had a pounding headache at the front. Your body was strangely cold, sans your burning head, but you still had your ears.

You opened your eyes to see Dash hovering over you, worry and anticipation in her expression, but her eyes would brighten when you two made eye contact. She tearfully laughed as she leaned down and hugged you, but seeing how quick she was to wipe her eyes on your shoulder, you were confident only you noticed the miniature waterworks.

"What-"

"Bad news...?" Sunset awkwardly smiled. "You.. probably are a kitsune..."

Dash slowly pushed herself up, making you elevate with her. "...What?"

Twilight took over, "Kitsune need their star balls to stay alive and when separated from it for too long, they'll slowly die."

She sighed. "And I'm sure you can guess the rest..."

i died?   -You glanced down at your wrist; your bracelet was indeed back on.

"How much do you remember, [Nickname]?"

it really doesn't feel like i died   -"I put the bracelet in Sunset's bedroom."

"Oh, you've been out of it for a while," Sunset softly remarked. "After that, you were fine for the first few minutes, then you couldn't look anyone in the eye before what we thought was you passing out. Dash was the one who couldn't feel your pulse."

"I think it's best we go to Equestria," Twilight intervened.

"But this is a Canterlot problem?" you could see flaws in this plan. "If we go to where magic is controllable, everything will be seemingly solved."

"Well, it might be best you go to Princess Celestia for answers. I may be the Princess of Friendship with crazy magical abilities, but I wasn't exactly trained for this," she smiled. "I think everything will start to make sense when you see a lifelong friend. It could explain why you don't seem to remember her..."

You got up from the floor with Dash's help. "Whatever you say."

It was a short drive considering how close Sunset's house was to the school. She couldn't necessarily walk, unless she wanted to wake up two hours earlier, but a nap for any passengers was also pretty useless.

"I'll actually stay here," Sunset smiled as she put her car in park. "Make sure nothing bad happens."

Twilight squint as she turned around. "...It's Princess Celestia, isn't it?" She and Dash laughed when Sunset only let out awkward noises as she tried explaining herself.

"It's fine," Twilight smiled, closing the door. "I'll write to you if something happens." You all walked to the statue.

ew   -You poked your hand through the portal to get a feel for what you had to mentally prepare yourself for, but the feeling was unexplainable. However, Twilight just walked right in. Dash laughed beside you when your eyes widened.
