Chapter 7
Ren parks his black Lamborghini roughly at the parking lot, and hops out. He rushes over to the entrance door of the hospital, and barges in, heading to the reception.
"Hey," He calls the receptionist's attention, causing her to raise her gaze to look at him while having a questioning look on her face.
"Hello..."
"An accident victim was taken here minutes ago. It's a woman. Please where's she?" He asks worriedly and restlessly. He had gotten a call while he was still at the villa earlier, that Tracy got into an accident on her way from sorting out the issue her brother had with someone. He had to rush down here as soon as he got the news.
"She has been taken to the ER. You should wait for the doctor over there," The receptionist says to him calmly as he points to the chair in the lobby, earning a scoff from him.
"Where's the ER?" He asks impatiently.
"Sir, you can't..."
"Where is the damn ER, young lady?" He snaps at her as he slams his hand on the counter, causing her to flinch fearfully.
"This way, Sir," She hurries from the counter and leads the way, while he walks behind her briskly.
Arriving at the front of the ER a few minutes later, she tries to push the door open after she looks through the transparent window to see the doctor's and nurses gathered around someone lying on the bed.
"It's locked from inside, you can't go in," the receptionist says to him before she walks away.
"Shit!" He curses under his breath, running his fingers through his hair. His heart beats nervously against his chest as he prays silently that she survives this.
The relationship between him and Tracy hasn't been strong from the onset, after she caught him cheating on her. He has tried to win her trust after series of cheating on her, but it had always seem to him that it's who he is, and he can't change it. He grew up having different women in his life, and Tracy happened to be one of those women, but what he feels for her, he has never felt it fora any other woman.
Although their relationship was an on and off type, but he still tried to be dedicated to it, and with the help of her parents and his mom, they were able to scale through their misunderstandings until now. Just three months ago, they got engaged, although she wasn't too happy about it, but he made up his mind that he would change for better and make her happy in the marriage. It'll be difficult to move on if anything happens to her.
Thirty minutes later, the door finally opens, and the doctor walks out of the room.
"Doc, how's she? Is she OK now? Please talk to me," He rushes over to the doctor and questions him worriedly.
"Who are you to the patient?" The doctor asks him instead.
"I am her fiance. Can you tell me how she's feeling now?" He asks again impatiently.
"She was brought in here on time, so the danger was avoided. However, she needs blood transfusion because she lost a much blood before she was brought in. You have now until three hours to get her a donor," the doctor says, and his face drops sadly and his heart sinks into his stomach. He wouldn't have hesitated to donate his blood to her, but he's no match for her. What is he going to do now?
"Doc, can you please help me get a donor? I promise to pay any amount you ask for. Just help me save her, please," He rushes over to the doctor who's already heading to his office, causing him to stop.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Ren, but we don't do that here. I'll advise you go look for the donor now before it's too late," The doctor says to him before he pushes the door of his office open, and walks in.
His heart tightens in pain as he stares at the closed door, thinking of what to do. Where is he supposed to get the donor from? He doesn't even know anyone that has her blood type, so what is he supposed to do?
He glances at his wristwatch, and sighs briefly as he adjusts his tie like it's obstructing his breath. The time is running out.
He turns and walks briskly to the ER, but it's still tightly locked. He looks through the transparent door, and find her on life supporting machine. Seeing the paleness in her face, fear grips him as the thought of losing her hits him hard. Losing Tracy is the last thing on his mind.
"Lilian..." He suddenly whispers, and quickly reaches our for his phone from his pocket.
"Shit!" He curses under his breath after he scrolls through his contacts for minutes without finding her phone number on his phone. He has forgotten that he doesn't have her number.
Minutes later, he walks briskly along the lobby and storms out of the hospital building. He scurries to the parking lot and hops in his car, driving out of the compound afterward.
He speeds down the road minutes later with many thoughts flooding his mind. He just remembered that Lilian is type O±, and can donate blood to Tracy. As much as he wants to think about what he is about to do, knowing that it has to do with the life of the woman he loves, nothing else matters to him anymore, not even anyone's life.
Getting stuck in the traffics for almost thirty minutes almost drives him nut, but he finally manages to get out of it, and speed to his mansion.
He hops out of the car as soon as he drives into the mansion, speeding to Lilian's room afterward, not even bothered about the maids that keep greeting him as he climbs the staircase like a crazy man. Of course, he has become crazy.
He pushes Lilian's door open without knocking, and there she is on the bed, about to take a nap.
She springs up to her feet and her heart sinks into her stomach as soon as he barges in.
"Re... Ren..." Her voice breaks as she calls him with a terrified look on her face.
"Come with me," He says to her and heads to the door, but his question makes him halt on his track.
"Where are we going?" She asks, even if she knows she shouldn't question him. She is yet to get over the pain of the bully from earlier, she can't afford to get another one again.
"Stop questioning me and come with me!" He snaps at her angrily before he storms out of the room, slamming the door behind him, and she flinches.
Many questions floods her mind as she slid her feet into her flip flop, dragging herself out of the room afterward...
