Chapter 30

    

    Nate POV

I blink my eyes a couple of times to be sure that I am not dreaming, and when I look through the hole again, Kira is still standing there and waiting patiently for me to open the door for her. How the hell did she know my place, and what the hell is she doing here?

    The sound of the knock on my door for the second time pulls me out of my train of thought, and I finally pull the door open, revealing the devil in human form. 

    "What are you doing here?" I ask her coldly as I glare at her, and I'm sure she knows that she's not welcome here. How the hell did she even get the guts to show her face to me? Is she shameless?

    "Nate, I..."

    "How did you know my house?" I ask her again, and she sighs briefly.

    "Can you let me in first, please?" She pleads with me, and I can't help but scoff. She must be kidding me to think that I will let her into my house. Never!

    "You wouldn't want me to ask you that question again, Kira. What the hell are you doing here?" I sneer at her, and she gulps down whatever is in her throat, I don't care.

    "I... I came to see you," She stutters, and I pull a puzzled look. See me? For what? Well, that's not even the problem for now, but how she managed to locate my house is the problem. It couldn't be that Nick betrayed me, right?

    "I don't want to see you, and don't you dare show your face to me again," I say to her before I slam the door in her face, dragging myself to the couch afterward. I sink into the couch and rub my forehead while groaning in pain. I think I really need to go to the hospital before anything goes wrong with me.

    "Can you let me in, Nate? I'm not going to leave here until you agree to talk to me," She yells from outside, and I roll my eyes. Who cares how long she chooses to stay out there? It's her legs, so she can stand there all she wants.

    I finally drag myself from the couch and head to my room to have my bath and go to the hospital for treatment. After having a long and relaxing bath, I get dressed and go downstairs to have breakfast.

    After I'm done eating, I stride to the exit door and pull it open, but I stop on my track when I find Kira sitting at my doorstep. What the hell! I thought she left already.

    She stands up to her feet as soon as she notices that I am already standing behind her.

    "What are you still doing here, Kira? I told you to leave already, didn't I?" I ask her, and a drop of tears slid down the corner of her cheek. I turn my face away and sigh briefly. I won't be fooled by her tears, never!

    "I know you don't want to see me again, Nate... I deserve all the treatment you're giving me, and I am not complaining. All I want is for you to please spare me a few minutes of your time, and let's talk," She pleads with me, and I sigh briefly. I could never ignore her, no matter how much I try to. She has hurt me so much, but a part of me still feels some pain whenever I see her like this.

    "You have only five minutes to say whatever you want to say. What is it?" I cross my arms on my chest, waiting patiently for her to say whatever she wants to say so I can leave.

    "Uhm... Can we at least find somewhere to sit? Your car or mine is fine," She suggests, and I roll my eyes. I walk over to my car with her trailing behind me.

    "How did you get the location of my house?" I ask curiously once we're inside my car, and she bites her bottom lip.

    "Uhm... Forgive me, but I have been stalking you..." She replies to me and I roll my eyes.

    "So? What do you want?" I ask her coldly, and she sighs.

    "Nate... Uhm... I'm sorry about what happened in the past..." She pauses and inhales sharply, looking all nervous. Of course, she should be nervous, because where the hell is that gut coming from?

    "I know it's hard to forgive me, but I'm begging you to find a place in your heart to forgive me. I know it's difficult to trust me again, but just please give us another chance, and I promise to make things right again... I will make it up to you, and make sure that you're never hurt again," She pleads with me.

    "Stop wasting your time on me, Kira... Things can never work out with us again... Everything we shared is all in the past now. It took me so much time to move on, and all those times that I was still finding it difficult to do, I was hoping you would show up one day and told me this, but you didn't..." I pause and look out of the window.

    "There's no more chance for us again, Kira. I already moved on, and you should try to do the same too," I further say to her.

    "Nate..."

    "In the future, don't come here again. You don't have any right to come to my house unannounced... You lost that right," I cut her off, and she slowly nods her head as tears stream down her cheeks. Just how much I want to hug her and tell her that everything will be fine, but she ruined everything. I feel so stupid that I still feel sad whenever I see her like this, I feel like I'm a jerk for still loving her even after everything she has done to me, and after all this time we have spent apart from each other.

    "Hmm... I won't bother you again, I promise..." She replies to me, and I nod my head.

    "Can I ask for a favor from you, please?" She asks, and I nod my head.

    "Can I have your card? It's fine if you don't want me again, I just want us to keep in touch and say hi to each other once in a while. It's fine if you don't want to give me, but I'll be grateful if you'll consider it," She demands, and I stare at her for a few seconds before I turn my face away. What does she take me for? I want to forget her for fuck's sake, and keeping in touch with her is as good as wanting her in my life.

    "I'm sorry, Kira... I don't want to talk to you. If you will please leave now, I need to go somewhere," I say to her as I push the car door open for her to leave my car.

    "Hmm... Thanks for your time," She says to me before she steps out of the car, and I slam the door close.

    "Shit!" I run my fingers through my hair and throw my head back on the headrest. Why did she show up?
