"I GAVE YOU A CHANCE, MAN."

Parang yelong nakakasugat sa lamig ang boses ni Hugo.

"You had almost ten years, but instead of taking the chance, you wasted it."

Harry's whole face turned red and his hands clenched into fists. He was about to say something to Hugo when his cell phone suddenly rang. I smiled bitterly when I saw the hesitation in him, whether he would answer the call or not.

"Umalis ka na muna, Harry," sabi ko sa patag na tono. "Saka na tayo mag-usap. Pero buo na ang desisyon ko, na dapat noon ko pa ginawa. Let's stop wasting each others time."

"Hon, please..." Akma siyang hahakbang palapit sa akin nang humarang si Hugo sa pagitan namin.

Nang maghinang ang mga mata namin ni Hugo ay sandali akong napahinto. I didn't know if the emotion I saw in his eyes was just my imagination. But, Hugo seemed proud of what I did.

Tiim ang mga labi na nilampasan ko siya. Nauna na akong bumalik sa loob ng bahay at iniwan silang dalawa. Dumeretso ako sa aking kuwarto at nag-lock ng pinto. Pagak akong natawa nang mag-sink in sa akin ang mga nangyari kanina. What the hell? I really did break up with my long-time fiancé!

Although the pace of my relationship with Harry was slow and there were obstacles between us, it still never crossed my mind that we would come to this point. I expected to shed a bucket of tears after calling it quits, but it was funny that not a single tear fell from my eyes.

Pasubsob ako na nahiga sa kama. Ang aking nararamdaman lang ngayon ay pagod. I wanted to rest and that was what I did.

THE NEXT DAY I received two bouquets of roses. Ang dinampot ko ay ang bouquet of red roses. Mabango. Pero natitiyak kong sinipon na naman ang nagdala nito rito.

Nakatingin lang naman sa akin si Mommy habang inaamoy ko ang hawak na bulaklak.

Bandang hapon na ako nag-check ng phone. Puno ako ng missed calls at text messages mula kay Harry. I deleted all of it.

Si Kuya Jordan ay may dalawang text message sa akin. Tinatawagan daw siya ni Harry kagabi. May isang message din sa akin si Dessy sa Messenger. Mukhang pati siya ay binalak kausapin ni Harry dahil sa kadesperaduhan nito na makausap ako.

Dessy: Bakit biglang may missed call sa akin si Harry? What? Na-realized niya bang ako na ang gusto niyang pakasalan kaysa sa 'yo? LOL.
