Apology

Hello readers! Some of you may be new, others maybe past readers. Regardless, thank you so much for all the love that you've given HTSAZA, it means the WORLD to me.

While I am beyond grateful, it has come to my attention (from plenty of comments) that JK's character comes off/is toxic.

When I began writing HTSAZA, I was 17 years old. Growing up on wattpad (I've been on here for more than 11 years), writing "mean" male love interests was the norm. That's what I thought was romantic/hot. At least for me, I can't speak on behalf of anyone other than myself. So, when writing JK's character, I definitely put in all these bad qualities because at the time I thought it was ok. While some of his actions/beliefs are understandable, (his sisters su*cide, and the trauma that he developed after finding her) some of his actions towards TH were not, and came off as toxic.

Now that I'm turning 21, and have outgrown childish fantasies, I see how romanticizing toxic characters is damaging to young readers. It was never my intention, and reading back, I realize how underdeveloped JK's redemption arch was. And that is solely my fault, and perhaps the lazy writing/writers block that I had when I was nearing the end of the book.

Once again, I am sorry for not developing JK's character as much as I should have. And I apologize for making him so toxic, that was never the goal.
