namhae is deserted. there's not one sign of life except for a single man that stands in the middle of the decks. "what's going on here?" yoongi looks around, though there's nothing. of course, they weren't expecting people to be out acting like nothing was going on, but this was just. . . wrong.
"please follow me," a soldier says to them, leading the way down.
they follow shortly, carefully climbing down the ladder and trailing behind the soldier who walks towards the man clad in a suit that's standing alone. taehyung doesn't recognize him as someone his parents have worked with. "this feels weird," jeongguk whispers next to him.
"i know," taehyung agrees, his eyes roaming the empty buildings.
"mister kim, our guests have arrived," the soldier greets the man.
mister kim dismisses the soldier and bows to the group, "i'm kim namjoon, i'm here to escort you all to your residence. i'm sure you have questions, but those will be answered later. if you'll please follow me, i'll drive to the residence."
there's so much they want to ask, but seeing that it's only them there, they simply oblige. taehyung recognizes the vehicle as the one his driver used to have, it's polished black and holds no stains or scratches.
they file in, occupying the back seats, too uncomfortable to sit next to namjoon. after a while, he begins driving further into the island, "we'd been expecting you taehyung. your mother will be glad to see you."
"where's duck? is he ok?" taehyung asks, looking at namjoon through the rearview mirror.
namjoon nods, "ah, the little one. he's well, he asks for you a lot, he'll be happy to see you all."
taehyung smiles to himself, at least he knows duck is safe. "and the rest of the people? where are they at?" jimin asks, looking at them with a let's get answers now type of look.
namjoon remains quiet, not answering the question. instead, he speaks into a walkie talkie and as they approach two large gates, they open immediately. taehyung recognizes the house as his family home during vacation. his stomach erupts in nerves, jeongguk seems to notice, so he takes his hand and caresses it. "i assume you'll all want to stay in the same location? if not, there's another house nearby that can be used."
