it's an excruciating three hours of waiting for the boat to arrive by the decks. there's a group of soldiers surrounding them, guns aimed at every direction. taehyung is nervous, even more nervous than the first time. he holds onto jeongguk's hand, leg shaking. jeongguk notices, and taps his leg, "hey, we're ok."
taehyung looks at jeongguk and nods, though it's mostly forced.
the first undead creature emerges from the trees. it's a slow one, it doesn't run after a victim. jimin and yoongi inch closer together, covering their ears as the first gunshot fires and the zombie drops dead. despite their strong facade, the soldiers hold a look of fear in their eyes as they roam around the trees.
"it's arriving, be prepared," doctor jung secures his gun in his hands.
taehyung can see the faint outline of the boat, only this time it's a yacht speeding down the waters. as it approaches, it slows down, aligning itself close enough to the deck. as the crew get ready to begin walking down the deck, clicking noises begin to be heard all around. they turn only to glance at what's coming, and once they see, they start dashing towards the yacht.
these zombies are almost unrecognizable beings. their skull is exposed, a weird growth all around the exposed skin. the clicking sounds are emitted by them, they stalk around, and one by one they begin to launch themselves onto the soldiers, who begin firing.
"run taehyung!" jeongguk doesn't have to tell him twice this time, taehyung grabs jimin's hand and runs with him to the yacht, boarding it and wait for jeongguk and yoongi to do the same.
"go!" doctor jung pushes the ladder out of the way and lets it fall into the water.
taehyung panics for him, although he doesn't know doctor jung personally, he still feels a need to save him somehow. jeongguk grabs taehyung and holds him. the zombies outnumber them quickly, and taehyung turns around before he sees anything else.

there's only a few minutes before they reach namhae island. safety, real safety awaits for them. taehyung watches jimin hold onto yoongi, and he's glad he could get them somewhere safe. jeongguk brushes taehyung's bangs away from his face, caressing his face without hesitation as he was doing it publicly.
taehyung closes his eyes, enjoying the small action. "gguk? i didn't tell you but, eundong was. . . he was killed the day the zombies broke in. i know he was your friend," taehyung grabs jeongguk's hand and caresses it with his thumb.
jeongguk gulps, nodding but staying silent. he licks his lips, "did he hurt you?"
"n-no, we had just ran into each other," taehyung lies.
"you don't have to lie, he deserved it."
"no gguk, don't say that," taehyung doesn't want to think that, even if eundong made his life hell, he would've never wished that upon him.
the raven brings taehyung close to him, hugging him and ignoring the smirk on jimin's face when he does so. "let's not talk about that hm? we're gonna be safe now. for real this time."
"i'm only safe with you with me."
"sap."
the yacht begins to slow down, and it only signifies one thing: they've arrived. namhae has always been a beautiful island, and now it's even more. knowing that nothing bad stands there, it's a relief for everyone. but once the yacht anchors, taehyung's face falls.
