THE NEXT MORNING, LIV SPENT HER TIME CLEANING UP FROM THE PARTY. John B had gone to the meet with the DCS social worker and was out before she even woke up. Liv didn't mind being on clean-up duty though, and happily hummed to herself while picking up the red solo cups and trash that were littered around the yard.
There was a pile up of dishes in the sink, courtesy of the teenage boys that had no concept of what would happen if you left dirty dishes out for too long. Liv rummaged through the cabinets to find cleaner, and after finding a decently clean sponge she got to work. The girl truly didn't mind cleaning, knowing that the poor boy who lived here had enough going on. She was so immersed in her task that she didn't hear when JJ entered the kitchen and snuck up behind her.
"Look at you being all housewife."
His head was right next to hers as he spoke, making Liv let out a noise of terror. She turned around at lightening speed and smacked the boy's bare chest. "You scared the shit out of me!"
The redhead caught her breath as JJ stared down at her with a smirk. "You gonna make me breakfast too?"
She rolled her eyes and turned back to the dishes, continuing to clean them. "Livvy." JJ drawled, "Please?" The boy wrapped his arms around her waist, placing his chin on her shoulder. Liv sighed, giving in and nodding her head as she placed the last clean dish onto the counter. Then JJ hauled her off the ground and spun her around, exclaiming in excitement.
"Put me down, J!" You could hear the smile in Liv's voice as she tried her hardest not to laugh.
He obeyed, setting her back onto the floorboards and booping her nose. "I have something for you because you said yes." A mischievous smile gracing his lips. Liv crossed her arms and tilted her head, silently asking what it was. The blond reached into his back pocket and pulled out a freshly rolled joint in between his fingers.
Liv gasped dramatically, putting a hand over her heart. "For little old me?"
"Just for you, baby." The boy teased, moving his hand to place to joint into Liv's mouth. She opened it slightly, molding her lips around the rolled paper. JJ's eyes were fixed on her mouth as he pulled out a lighter and lit the end for her. He was still holding onto the joint as she inhaled, so he removed it from her mouth and brought it up to his own. Unknowing to him, Liv had kept her gaze on his eyes, watching how they sparkled under the light from the quick flame. When she exhaled, his eyes found their way to hers and they continued to make eye contact while JJ took his own hit. Their bubble was broken when Kiara threw a pillow at JJ, and he brought a hand up to rub the back of his head.
"Stop eye-fucking and make some food. Please."
Liv's cheeks darkened and she gave a quick response before going to the cupboards to see what was there.
After trying her best to make her friends food, she made her way back to her house to check in with her aunt. She didn't bother sneaking in, knowing that her family knew she had been out anyways. "Hazel? I'm back." She called into the house, hoping to find her aunt home alone. Liv moved into her room and thankfully she heard soft footsteps and sighed in relief. While packing up some of her things in her backpack, she started speaking to her aunt. "I think I'm gonna ride out the storm at John B's. I know that JJ is going to be there too, and then I think we'll go fishing tomorrow. I just wanted to let you know so you weren't—"
