ARRIVING AT THE CHATEAU, THE POGUES HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS IN STORE FOR THEM. Most of the group was pleasantly surprised when they found John B and his father already there. Big John was alive, for real, and the teens were ecstatic.
Each teen greeted the man with a hug, JJ even going as far as hopping on his back as they laughed. When it was Liv's turn, the redhead stuck her hand out sheepishly saying, "I'm Olivia. Everyone calls me Liv though, uh, sir."
"No need for the formalities. It's great to meet you, Liv," John took the young girl in for a hug. He had pulled back saying, "I heard you've been making a certain blond very happy—"
JJ cut the man off with a slap to the arm, "Yeah, yeah. That's enough from you, old man." He rolled his eyes before moving over to wrap and arm around his girlfriend. "I'm almost positive I'm the one making her very happy," JJ grinned, looking down at the girl.
"Idiot," Liv muttered as she wrapped her arm around JJ's waist. She pinched his side making him yelp, which he covered up with a cough, then she smiled softly at Big John. "Well, I'm glad you're back."
"Me too," John responded, trailing his eyes towards his son, "me too. Now, we have a lot to talk about."
The group gathered around in the yard and started to eagerly listen to what the father and son had discovered. "Yeah, so we, um... we went to the archives in Charleston, and uh— it was a dead end," John B admitted. Liv could feel JJ's hand tighten on her waist, but she didn't think too much of it. "A dry hole. So..."
"So that's the gold, the cross, and now El Dorado." Pope scoffed, "We're three-for-three, guys." The boy started to pace, saying, "The streak continues. That's great."
Kiara takes her own leave, moving off away from the house in defeat. Both JJ and Liv leave right after their friends, the boy saying he was going to go fish.
As the couple walked further from the house, Liv makes the decision to go and speak with her aunt. JJ nodded slowly, pulling the girl in for a tight hug. After an innocent goodbye and a few kisses later, the pair went their separate ways.
Liv spent a decent amount of quality time with Hazel before she had to go in for her shift. Time passed quickly as the teen laid peacefully on her bed with a book in hand. She hadn't noticed how much time had passed until she picked up her phone in hopes of texting JJ. When she realized just how late it was, she started to get worried. Her boyfriend had told her he'd join her after a little while, and it had been much longer than a little while.
After packing up a small bag, Liv ventured over to JJ's house. She figured he'd passed out or something, so she didn't mind going to his instead.
Except he wasn't there.
Liv furrowed her brows as she approached the house, not seeing any signs of JJ being there. It wasn't until she rounded the back of the house that she finally found someone of familiarity.
"Sarah?"
The blonde girl was sitting on the grass, facing the marsh. Her head perked up and whipped around at the sound of her name. "Liv? Oh my God," Sarah's head lolled forward and rested on her knees before she stood slowly.
"What are you doing here?" Liv's brows furrowed as she watched her friend walk over to her.
"I thought I'd be able to crash, but..." Sarah motioned towards the house, "looks like no one's home."
