IT HAD BEEN ABOUT A WEEK AND A FEW DAYS SINCE THE MURDER. Of course, the Pogues had to go to school like it had never happened, and sit through their classes with smiling faces. It was a Friday, and Liv and JJ were cuddled up in bed. The boy had spent the night at the Primrose house, attending dinner as well. JJ had wanted to make a good impression with Hazel, so he was sure to offer to set the table and clean the dishes. Hazel dismissed him, telling him that he was a guest and there was no need to clean.

So, the pair spent the night in Liv's room, talking of school and such. They acted almost domestically, brushing their teeth beside each other and reading before going to sleep.

Waking up, Liv's eyes slowly fluttered open and landed on JJ's. He'd woken up a few minutes before her and didn't dare to move when he saw how precious she looked as she slept in his arms. He hadn't moved an inch, his arms still circled around her with one hand in her hair. Liv smiled at him, raising her brows. "Were you staring at me?"

"I don't know, was I?"

Rolling her eyes, Liv pushed JJ away from her with a playful smirk. "All right, Blondie. Time for school."

JJ groaned and rolled onto his back as the girl climbed out of bed and stretched out her limbs. Like the night before, the pair got ready together harmoniously. Kiara picked them up, not bothering to hide her smirk to Liv when they exited the house together.

School seemed to drag on, especially because it was getting to that time when quizzes and tests were starting. Mr. Sunn had always been the kind of teacher to have a ton of tests throughout the year, so of course they were having one already. Liv sat at her desk with her focus on the test in front of her, biting on her bottom lip as she thought about the answers. Her leg bounced as she filled in the correct answers, or at least she hoped were the correct answers, and she could feel her lip starting to swell because of how much she was chewing on it.

"Mr. Sunn, can I borrow Pope for a minute?"

Liv's head snapped up at the sound of someone's voice, and she found a man in a suit standing in the doorway. "Mr. Heyward. It's for you," Mr. Sunn spoke with a hint of annoyance, making the majority of the class look up at the interruption. Pope stood up, glancing back at his friends with a confused expression. He left the room with the man, leaving the rest of them to continue with their test. Kiara looked over to Liv, who just shrugged and went back to the paper in front of her.

A few minutes passed before Pope rushed back into the classroom and quickly turned to his friends, who were already looking at him. Liv hadn't paid attention to his return, so when Kiara reached over to nudge her elbow, she looked up to see Pope holding up an envelope to them. In the golden wax seal, there was an engraving of wheat— just like what was on the gold.

"Is that the wheat symbol?" Kiara whispered. Pope confirmed her suspicion, his eyes wide as he nodded.

"What the f— fu, fudge..."

Liv had to cover her mouth so the giggle threatening to escape wouldn't come out. Mr. Sunn gave JJ a stern look before going back to his work at his desk. The four teens went back to their tests, their brains all a bit fuzzy because of the envelope.
