THE TRUCK HAD REACHED TOWN, AND IT WAS OFFICIALLY TIME FOR THE POGUE AND THE KOOK TO TAKE OFF. Both of them jumped off the back when the vehicle came to a stop, their location being the perfect spot.
"Come on, my boat's down here," Rafe spoke.
While they made their way down to the dock, Liv thought through her plan. Of course, she had no idea if it was going to work, but she had to believe in herself. There was no way she was getting a ride off the island without her friends.
"Okay, we should have enough juice to get us to Saint Lucia, no problem," Rafe said as he detached the ropes from the boat. Liv stood on the dock, watching him move to the wheel. "Hey, get in the boat." When she didn't move, he yelled out, "Liv!"
"You're not gonna pull anything? No funny business?" Liv questioned.
Rafe rolled his eyes, "No, I'm not gonna pull anything, okay? I'm trying to do you a solid here. You really wanna be back there with Singh right now, or do you wanna be somewhere safe? Can you please help me with the bowline?" He gestured to the front of the boat.
Only then did Liv get onto the boat, but she had other plans than to help with the bowline.
"Hey, Rafe? I can't get it, it's stuck, I don't know," Liv called out. The boy went down to help her, stepping over the railing to pull the rope off and toss it. When he did, Liv pushed his shoulders back with all her strength and ran up to the wheel. She could hear him shouting her name, but she had already started up the engine and was pulling out from the dock.
Liv let out a breathy laugh, looking over her shoulder a few times to make sure Rafe was still back by the docks. The redhead moved to a different dock and decided to stay there and try to get her friends to meet her. She fished the phone out of her pocket, scrolling through the contacts until she found Portis'. She sent her location with a short message telling them to meet there at 6:15. With an added P4L, Liv could only hope that her friends would get the message and believe it was her.
The boat was huge compared to the others around, and Liv had faith that Sarah could recognize it as her family's. The girl had sat around for just a little while before she saw movement on the dock. She walked around to see if it was anyone she knew, and when she saw who it was she was almost in shock.
"JJ?" Liv said softly, her eyes starting to water from just the sight of her boyfriend. His face relaxed as he took in the sight of her in silk pajamas and no serious injuries.
"Liv," JJ breathed out, meeting her in the middle with a suffocating hug. "I'm so glad you're safe, sweet girl. I love you, I love you, I love you," JJ spoke, his hands tightening around her back.
The embrace was needed by both teens, as their separation had been making them quite anxious.
Liv laughed a bit as she forced herself to pull back and look at JJ's face. "I was so worried, I thought I wasn't ever going to get out—""Hey, hey," JJ grabbed onto her cheeks gently. "You're safe, we're together." The mantra made tears fall freely from Liv's eyes, but JJ was quick to wipe them away with his thumb. "I got you," He leaned in to place a kiss on her lips, one that held so much emotion it almost made Liv collapse on the spot. She melted into him, her arms wrapped securely over his shoulders with her hands woven through his hair. "I love you," JJ spoke against her lips before pulling back and placing another kiss on her forehead.
