MORNING SUN WARMED LIV'S FACE AS SHE SAT ON THE WOODEN BENCH DOWN ON THE DOCK. The previous day had been, well, traumatizing to say the least. She didn't bother listening to the conversation happening around her, only because she knew for a fact it was about the events prior.
Liv had her eyes closed as she basked in the light, with her knees pressed up to her chest. Her head was tilted back on the wood as she tried to relax.
"Livvy."
Hands landed softly on her knees as the smooth voice whispered her name. "Hm?" She replied lazily, her eyes fluttering open. She was met with the gaze of a blue-eyed blond boy, who just happened to be smirking at her.
"You okay?" He asked, his thumbs rubbing circles on her skin.
Liv nodded, raising her head up slightly. Her eyes scanned his outfit— a black tank top with a pair of overalls and his signature baseball cap. "You look cute," She remarked, squinting up at him. She smiled when she saw his cheeks tint pink as he shook his head.
"Yeah, okay," JJ scoffed, removing his hands from her knees and sitting himself next to her. Liv's head lolled to the right to look at him.
"You do. I mean— you always do, but the overalls are a look, J," Liv continued, reveling in the way JJ's dimples popped out as he smiled.
The boy adjusted his hat as he laughed lightly, then turned his head to fully look at her. "Well, you look beautiful." Rolling her eyes, Liv turned her head forward. It was only a second before JJ was reaching out to turn her head back to him and hold her chin. "You always do," He repeated her own words, grinning as Liv's own cheeks became pink. JJ dipped his head to give her a quick kiss on the lips before hopping up from his spot. "It's a wonderful day, my Liv! Come on," JJ reached his hands out in front of her, wiggling his fingers as he nodded. "You know you want to," He drawled, patting her knees.
"Okay, okay," Liv spoke as she put her hands in his and let herself get pulled off of the bench.
"We're just gonna relax and hang out, smoke some weed, drink some beer..." JJ explained, pulling her towards the house.
Liv laughed, her mood lifting for the first time in a while. "Sounds perfect, Blondie."
JJ's brows raised playfully as they walked along the grass. "Ooh, haven't heard that one in a while. I've missed it," He spoke, leaning over to place a kiss to the side of her head.
"You know you have a test tomorrow, right?"
Pouting, the blond whipped his head towards Liv. "You're lying."
"Nope. Geometry. Don't get too drunk, Blondie," She smirked as she let go of the boy's hand and ran off towards the house.
"I will not get too drunk!"
