18 MONTHS LATER...
IT HAD BEEN A YEAR AND A HALF SINCE THE DREADFUL GOLD HUNT. Finishing high school was on the top of Olivia Primrose's list when they returned, and finish she did. The girl ended up graduating almost at the top of her class, coming just shy of top 10. It was impressive to say the least, as they all had a lot of catching up to do.
And Liv and JJ were going as strong as ever.
Their story was only just beginning, and now that they were 18 years old and somewhat legends? There was no way their life was going to be anything but eventful.
Luckily, the whole crew had a break from treasure hunts and mishaps. They all started pursing their own things, including saving turtles, starting a surf shop, going off to college, buying a charter boat, and starting up a cafe.
But we'll get more into the missing pieces later.
After they'd graduated, the island decided to commemorate Big John and his discoveries. Since the teens helped immensely, they were going to be honored and celebrated as well. In only a few hours, the Pogues were going to be celebrated for their accomplishments. It felt surreal, seeing as all the people beginning to celebrate them first started out skeptical. But they weren't going to complain.
JJ had slept over at Liv's the day before, just so they could get ready together. They woke up tangled with each other the day of— a regular occurrence— and then proceeded to shower and brush their teeth side-by-side.
If you asked their friends, they'd tell you they were basically already a married couple. Liv and JJ would deny that, but they both secretly wished that it would be the truth one day.
The blond was notorious for doting on the redhead, even when he wouldn't realize. He would hold her hair back when she brushed her teeth, made sure she was eating breakfast, kept a hand on the small of her back when they were walking together. And that was just the surface. He treated her like she was the sun, the moon and the stars combined. She was radiant to him, ethereal.
JJ honestly wondered what he did to be so lucky to find someone as sweet and caring as Liv.
Of course, Liv was the same way with JJ. She was constantly checking up on him and making sure he was doing okay. He would sometimes get in his own head about a lot of things, and Liv was always there to pull him out. She appreciated him more than she thought she ever would be able to, and doesn't know how she was lucky enough to find someone like him. She adored the way he treated her, and couldn't think of anyone else she'd rather spend her life with. Liv was truly and completely in love with JJ, and she never wanted that to change.
After their showers, Liv resorted back to her desk to let her hair dry. She had gotten out all of her makeup, and was set on getting it done. With a quick glance at the lavender dress hanging up on her closet door, she knew it was going to be a good day.
JJ was sat on her bed rolling a joint, but it didn't take long for him to finish. When he started to get bored, he chose to spend his time watching Liv put her makeup on.
